Church Reports A Miracle! Look Closely At The Virgin Mary’s Eyes!

Congregants of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hobbs, New Mexico were stunned recently when their Virgin Mary statue appeared to start crying right before their eyes. Now, an investigation has been lost into these claims after it was determined that the statue’s “tears” were “a scented olive oil.”

“Some of the witnesses claimed it smelled of roses,” said Bishop Oscar Cantu, of the diocese, according to Fox News. “So something similar to the oil I bless and consecrate each year that we use for baptism, for confirmations and for ordination of the priests.”

Cantu explained that an investigation has been launched to see if any cause can be found for the olive oil being placed on the statue. This situation was made all the more odd by the fact that nothing else was found to be irregular on the interior and exterior of the statue, indicating that it was not tampered with.

“There’s nothing on the interior that’s not supposed to be there, except for cobwebs,” Cantu said. “So we took pictures; we examined it.”

Though he admitted that he has looked into whether the tears are a hoax, Cantu added that “even if it were (a hoax), we are not sure how it would be done, physically. Because it is hardened bronze. We’ve examined the interior, and there’s nothing on the interior.”

If the investigation finds that the tears are supernatural in nature, Cantu said that another investigation will have to be launched to determine if they were sent from God or an evil spirit. However, he believes that if this was indeed supernatural in nature, it is a miracle sent from God given the fact that those who have come close to the statue have talked about “beautiful, positive fruits” that have come to them since the interaction.

“I’ve read most of those written testimonies, and they are stories of tremendous faith, people who have been dealing with terrible suffering in their lives and have felt a tremendous spiritual consolation that Mary walks with us in our tears,” Cantu concluded.
