Vegans just can’t seem to let people eat in peace. They feel the need to lecture us on our dining options and they often do so in the most inappropriate manner. But, when they took their protest to a Toronto restaurant to disrupt business, the owner had enough and served up some delicious revenge right in front of them.
The vegans set their target on Antler Kitchen and Bar. The establishment serves up “local seasonal and wild foods” that are native to Canada. This includes bison, boar, rabbit, duck, and deer. It also has vegetarian options, but that wasn’t enough for these protestors.
They wanted to make diners reconsider their carnivorous lifestyle and they attempted to interrupt their meals in a very obtrusive fashion, as you can see in the video below. But, Antler’s co-owner Michael Hunter was ready to send the protestors into a tizzy in a way that will have carnivores cheering.
After about an hour of this nonsense, Hunter “brought out an entire animal leg and started cutting it up right in the window on a table reserved for diners,” one of the horrified protestors said.
Event organizer Marni Jill Ugar took to Facebook to gripe about the horrors of watching someone eat meat in front of them. She claimed he was “taunting” them by cutting the deer leg in view of the protestors. Funny, how the protestors didn’t understand they were taunting the diners by protesting the restaurant.
“Once the deer was cooked, Michael Hunter, owner of Antler, sat back down at the window to eat the dead deer,” she wrote. “Look in the window. Look at Michael Hunter. That deer was treated like a joke. That deer was an innocent animal who did not want to die.”
These vegans were so upset that they called the police to report a man eating meat inside the meat restaurant that he owns. In their warped minds, they thought this was breaking the law!
Two police officers end up going into the restaurant and were seen speaking with Hunter. The three of them were apparently laughing and smiling, presumably at the absurdity of the vegans.
