Even though the year is not over yet, I cannot help but feel excited about possible wrestling developments in 2018. If you are not looking forward to 2018, let me help you on the hype train with these predictions, which are likely to happen in 2018!

1. Undertaker Hall of Fame Induction

I would be extremely surprised if the Undertaker does not get his Hall of Fame Induction in 2018 since it does appear like he put down his ‘Dead Man’ persona forever. (No worries, he can always return as the American Bad-Ass – Yeah). So, I believe that 2018 will be the time where the Undertaker enters the HOF!

2. Asuka Becomes Women’s Champion

asuka undefeated

Even though she made her main roster debut recently, Asuka is set to become the WWE Raw Women’s Champion. Asuka is still undefeated, so it is unlikely they would let this streak end when she gets her title shot.

However, there are some people who believe that Asuka will eventually be defeated in 2018, subsequently ending her undefeated streak. While I want Asuka to be undefeated on the main roster for a long time, it is likely due to a large amount of talent on the Raw roster. All I ask is one thing, don’t let it be Sasha Banks who beat her!

3. Fewer Pay-Per-Views for the WWE

WrestleMania

With the WWE’s continuous struggle to fill seats at their Live Events, many people predict the number of pay-per-views will be reduced in 2018. I have to admit, I have no problems with this. However, I do expect the quality of those remaining pay-per-views to go up, otherwise, the WWE will be shooting themselves in the foot.

4. New Factions on the Main Roster

nxt recap

Nothing boosts viewership ratings than a good faction, so we finally might get more powerful factions again. One of the factions that are expected to make an appearance on the main roster is Sanity, which has experienced great success in NXT. I just hope the Shield is still around by the time they appear, because this could make a rivalry of epic proportions.

5. Kane Retires

Kane’s retirement is expected to happen in 2018. Many people believe he will go out in the same way the Undertaker did, more specifically by passing the torch to another wrestler, in Kane’s case this will be everyone’s favorite ‘Monster Among Men’ Braun Strowman. Fortunately, Kane won’t be bored, since he could still run to become major of Knox County in Tennessee.

6. Curt Hawkins Maintains His Losing Streak

Curt Hawkins

While most wrestlers like to win, I don’t think Curt Hawkins minds the exposure he is getting simply by losing matches. We also need to remember that Curt Hawkins is far from an easy target because he usually puts on a good and entertaining defense. Of course, I would like to see Curt Hawkins breaking his streak eventually and becoming a champion.

7. The Return of the Bella Twins

Former backstage mean girls, but now beloved ex-champions, Nikki and Brie Bella are set to make their return in 2018. This is more than just a rumor though, because Nikki and Brie have both stated they would like to return together in 2018.

Unfortunately, there are some things that could go wrong with the plan. The twins have released their own wine in 2017, which sold out in a matter of minutes. They also released their fashion collection Birdie Bee, which is also doing well. (I checked it out myself and am loving it!) So, will the twins have time to get in the ring at all?

8. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens Become Enemies Once More

Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

I believe the saga of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will continue, more specifically by making the pair rivals again. Of course, I’m hoping for a super heel turn for Sami, which could turn Kevin Owens into a face. The possibilities for this storyline are endless.

9. Daniel Bryan Returns to Wrestling

Many people will disagree with me since they believe there is no way that the wrestler will return next year due to his medical status. I believe differently! I think Daniel Bryan is going to make a return to the ring because his passion for the business is unlike that of anyone else.

Even though I would love to see Daniel Bryan in the ring again, I am concerned about the medical consequences for him. Still, it is his life and Brie has given him her blessing. If Daniel Bryan does return, let’s count our blessings and enjoy it!

10. Roman Reigns Becomes WWE Champion (Again)

Since the WWE has stopped pushing Roman down our throats so much, I’ve warmed up to him once again. He’s certainly grown over the past year, so I’m wearing my Roman shirts with pride.

Early 2017, I predicted Brock Lesnar would remain the WWE Champion until WrestleMania. I also said that Roman Reigns would eventually take the title from him. Since things seem to lead that way with Brock still being the champion (god help us all), Roman will be our savior in 2018! Of course, I also hope the Shield stays intact during this time.

Any predictions you would like to add for 2018? Or do you think I’m dead wrong? Let me know in the comment section below!
