Jack Benny was Johnny Carson’s idol. So it was appropriate that in 1955, a young Johnny Carson was a guest on the Jack Benny Program. Carson had only been in showbiz for 2 years when he got this big boost to his career.
Johnny came on the show to give Jack some constructive feedback on how to improve his own show. As you can see in the video below, Jack wasn’t all that receptive and had some advice to give back to the future Tonight Show host.
I love seeing a young Johnny Carson. I only remember watching him when his hair had gone gray. I love this!
