Cultural icon William Shatner shut down millennial keyboard warriors after a long volley on Twitter. The youngsters tried to put him down with an “OK Boomer” jab not realizing that the actor was born in 1931 and is therefore nowhere close to being a baby boomer.
Millennials Use “Ok Boomer” As Insult
According to Fox News, “OK Boomer” has become a popular phrase used to dismiss and belittle the opinions of those in the baby boomer generation online. Boomers are technically people born between the years of 1946 and 1964.
Shatner was in the midst of a heated exchange on Twitter with “Dancing With The Stars” host Tom Bergeron about those upset that Sean Spicer was still on show when someone hit the 88 year-old “Star Trek” lead with the “OK Boomer” insult.

Good to see that others have trolls too who are so brave that they make unsubstantiated statements & like good little trolls lock up their accounts when you shine a light & ask for proof. ??♂️? https://t.co/4bqXgFb2VE

And that’s when it happened. The unsuspecting millennial walked right into it.

Of course Shatner, known for his witty unabashed Twitter banter, had the perfect response.
“Sweetheart, that’s a compliment for me,” Shatner wrote in response.

Shatner Obliterates Millennials
“I’m not really into pejoratives, but what’s the term for people when they can’t interpret a joke?” another Twitter user wrote in response.
“Millennial?” Shatner fired back.

Not stopping there, the Silent Generation icon continued to go toe-to-toe with the “triggered” millennials on social media.
“I feel it’s like one of those childish insults in fandom that seem to affect the delicate types to the point they meltdown & go over the rest of our heads as something ridiculous,” Shatner wrote. “If the person posting it thinks they are making a dig; they are the fools.”

While the original poster quickly backed down and fell silent, other millennials stepped up to hurl attacks at Shatner. One wrote that “OK Boomer” is “not for the boomers that understand sh–. It’s for the ignorant ones like you.”
Shatner Goes Off
That’s when Shatner REALLY let loose on the spoiled generation of millennials.
“And just what are we ignorant about Courtney? We don’t understand struggles? War? Depressions (economic not personal)? Inflation? Double digit Prime Interest rates?” Shatner wrote.

Millennials just love to complain about how “hard” their lives are, but they know nothing about the struggles that members of Shatner’s generation faced. When the same user dared to suggest that millennials had inherited their hardships from the boomer generation, Shatner shut her down once again.
“And the meek shall inherit… is that all your generation does is point fingers and blame others for their pity parties? You don’t get a participation trophy for life; you take what you get and play your best hand. It’s been that way since forever,” Shatner tweeted.

Shatner Calls Boomer A “Badge of Honor”
“I said I’d wear that badge with honor,” Shatner added when asked how he’d react if he was indeed a boomer. “Unlike you; the generations designation doesn’t define me nor am I too worried about getting labeled because it makes no difference to me. You seemed to be obsessed; blaming other gens. Some millennials are pushing 40. You aren’t kids.”

“Her bio says she’s an actress,” Shatner concluded of the Twitter user. “No production wants someone who blames their situation on everyone else. That’s Divaesque. She entitled to her opinion but she isn’t doing herself any favors by pretending she’s siding with millennials while pretending she’s not one.”

Millennials just love to blame all of their problems on everyone else without taking any responsibility for themselves, so we applaud Shatner for shutting them down and teaching them a brutal life lesson. The youngest millennials are now adults, so it’s time for all of them to grow up and stop their whining. As Shatner said, this is the real world, and you don’t get a participation trophy for life.
