“The Voice“Â is a popular television show throughout the world. Many countries have their own version of the contest that helps propel an unknown singer to instant stardom.
There also have been some editions of the show aimed at children. This allows youngsters to avoid competing against more experienced adult performers and get their feet in the door of the music industry.
A German boy named Simon took a shot at his country’s edition of “The Voice Kids.” He clearly was nervous as he took to the stage and grabbed the microphone. He chose a song that is recognizable throughout the world but can be hard to nail because the original version was so perfect.
Simon sang Elvis’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” for the judges and the huge audience. He added a completely different spin on this song that generations of Elvis fans have loved. Simon sang it rather slowly and dramatically. His young voice gave it a rather tender feel since his voice is higher due to his age.
It was a big risk for this youngster to sing this song, which isn’t even in his native language. It was a risk that paid off, and the crowd went wild for his performance. Then, the judges weighed in and Simon’s dreams started coming true.
If you are an Elvis fan, you will likely love the video below!
That is a completely different spin on the song that I’ve never heard before. Typically, it demands a husky voice when sung by a male, but Simon did a great job and earned the attention of the judges.
Elvis continues to be a winner decades after his death. His music stands the test of time. Simon’s win proves Elvis is still winning over new fans. All the kids at this German competition were obviously aware of The King’s music.
