Jenna Bush Hager, the “Today” show host who is also the daughter of the former President George W. Bush, shocked everyone on Wednesday morning when it was revealed that she “never wears underwear.”

Bush Hager Doesn’t Wear Underwear

This revelation actually came from “Today” co-host Hoda Kotb, who said that she only found out that Bush Hager doesn’t wear underwear when they were changing together in a dressing area before going live.

“I was a little surprised because Jenna and I know a lot about each other,” Kotb told the audience. “I just had a little shock with it.”

Bush Hager, 40, was quick to defend going commando.

“I think it makes a more pretty silhouette!” she said. “I also think you don’t have to pack as much. There’s a lot of pros to it!”

‘I’m Sure My Mom Has Never Been More Proud’

That being said, Bush Hager couldn’t help but be a little embarrassed that her secret about her undergarments (or lack thereof) has now been revealed to the world, according to People Magazine

“You promised me you wouldn’t do this! There’s a lot of people here!” she later told Kotb. “I’m sure my mom has never been more proud.”

Bush Hager’s mother is, of course, the former First Lady Laura Bush.

Kotb Isn’t Sold On Going Commando

The “Today” show’s wardrobe supervisor defended Bush Hager’s practice to Kotb, saying, “it actually does make life a lot easier.”

Kotb, however, was still not convinced, as she pointed out the downside to doing this is that “it’s a lot of washing of clothes, over and over.”

“[Hoda] said, ‘Do you wash your clothes’ and I said ‘Yes, I do.’ But it’s also not like I’m sharing your jeans with you. Though I do steal Savannah [Guthrie]’s pants on occasion,” Bush Hager said in response.  “And I do want to borrow that red suit of yours. Can I?”

“Yes, you can, anytime,” Kotb replied, at which time Bush Hager said with a laugh, “I’ll wear underwear!”

This was a big week for Kotb and Bush Hager, as their show “Today with Hoda and Jenna” began filming in front of a live studio audience again.

“We miss it and we love it. This is so important to us but there’s something about sitting among the people you love,” Kotb said when she announced this transition earlier this month.

“We miss y’all, Don’t you feel like everybody wants connection,” Bush Hager added. “I feel like people are back at church, people are back together, people are going to concerts and shows.”

Bush Hager’s Bond With Michelle Obama

This comes days after Bush Hager opened up about her bond with the former First Lady Michelle Obama.

“We’ve stayed very much in touch throughout these last many, many years,” Bush Hager told People Magazine immediately after she interviewed the former First Lady about her new memoir earlier in the week.

Bush Hager met Obama when the Bush family handed over the White House to the Obamas after the 2008 presidential election.

“I think [Obama] did for her girls what my mother did for me, which was she put us first,” Bush Hager added.

Bush Hager joined “Today” as a correspondent back in 2009, and she’s been with the show ever since. Were you shocked by her latest revelation about her wardrobe? Let us know in the comments section!
