The former First Lady Michelle Obama has written a new book in which she shamelessly whines about Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential victory and admits to not liking the way that she looks.

Michelle Whines About Trump

While promoting her upcoming book “The Light We Carry,” Michelle took a veiled dig at Trump when she said that it is crucial to have leaders who do not “prey on fear,” according to Daily Mail.

“When I’m in my darkest moment…my most irrational place, I could say, well, maybe (it didn’t matter). Maybe we weren’t good enough,” she told the BBC about Trump’s win over Hillary Clinton.

“But then I look around when there is more clarity… and think more rationally, I think well… today there’s a whole world of young people who are thinking differently about themselves because of the work that we’ve done,” Michelle added. “And that’s where you can’t allow great to be the enemy of the good.”

Michelle Doubles Down

Michelle also bashed Trump in an interview with the late night host Stephen Colbert.

“Fearful minds are isolated and their worlds become small and I think too many of us are living in our small worlds and our small minds reinforce with our thoughts that loop in our heads,” she told the liberal late night host. “When you have leaders who are willing to take advantage of that and lead with fear and prey on that instinct then we fall over in the ditch.”

Michelle’s Body Image Issues

In her book, which comes out today, Michelle also admitted that she suffers from serious body image issues. She candidly wrote that there are “plenty of mornings” when she turns on the light, looks at herself in the mirror, and “desperately want[s] to flip it off again.” Michelle also recalled that she “showed up tall for the first day of kindergarten and grew steadily from there.”

“The attention given to my height brought about a new self-consciousness in me, a slight sense of otherness,” Michelle wrote, adding that her height “created a small wound in me, the tiniest kernel of self-loathing that would keep me from embracing my strengths.”

In a separate interview, Michelle talked about how difficult the process of aging has been for her.

“I never used to weigh myself. I’m not trying to stick to numbers, but when you’re in menopause, you have this slow creep that you just don’t realize,” she explained. “We’re all in menopause with stretchy [waist] bands and our athleisure wear on, and you look up and you can’t fit the outfits you had last year. I have to be more mindful. Not obsessive, but more mindful.”

Michelle’s Workout Routine Changes

Michelle then said that her workout routine has changed as she’s aged.

“Some of it is menopause, some of it is aging,” she said of this change. “I find that I cannot push myself as hard as I used to. That doesn’t work out for me. That when I tear a muscle or pull something and then I’m out. The recovery time is not the same.”

“If I can walk and move, I don’t have to run. I don’t have to beat everyone. I’ve had to change the way I see myself in my health space,” Michelle continued. “You wind up balancing between staying fit enough and being kind enough on your body to stay in the game. I am still physically active, and my goal now, instead of having ‘Michelle Obama arms,’ I just want to keep moving.”

Many will undoubtedly be happy that despite pressure from the left for her to run for president, Michelle has said that she has no intention of doing so.

“No, I’m not. I’m not going to run,” Michelle replied when asked directly if she’ll ever run.

Thank goodness for that!
