Jeff Foxworthy is a well-seasoned comedian and a household name thanks in large part to a break Rodney Dangerfield gave him in 1989.

Dangerfield invited the Southern comic to perform at the opening of his Vegas club. He also appeared in Dangerfield’s cable TV special “Opening Night At Rodney’s Place.” This was four years before Foxworthy’s smash album, “You Might Be A Redneck If.” The crowd gets a great preview of the big things that were on the way for Jeff Foxworthy.

He tried out his redneck routine for this audience and they loved it! His routine was based around being a Southerner and he explained to the audience that there is a difference between being a Southerner and being a redneck.

“If your richest relative buys a new house and you have to help take the wheels off it, you might be a redneck,” Jeff said to laughter.

Jeff also told the crowd how he and his wife were trying to have a baby and needed the help of a fertility doctor. You’ll die laughing when he explains his surprise when the nurse handed him a cup. Jeff talks about parenting now in his stand-up routines, so it’s funny to watch him discuss wanting to have children all those years ago.
