Another installment of WWE Extreme Rules is complete, meaning it is time to see the grades each match earned.
WWE Extreme Rules 2021 Report Card: Grades Are In!
Liv Morgan vs Carmella
The card is rather small and full of title matches, except for the pre-show and a late addition. To begin, we saw Liv Morgan take on Carmella in a match with little backstory.
It is great to see Liv finally back on pay per view, even if only part of the audience is watching. I prefer Liv over Carmella, but “The Staten Island Princess” deserves some pay per view time too.
They were given a nice amount of time and showcased their evolution. Liv wins, so does that mean she is finally getting an overdue title program? Grade: B-

RAW Women’s Championship: Charlotte Flair vs Alexa Bliss
Heading into the title match, fans did not seem interested. Although, the two women delivered in a decent bout and it was probably better than most thought.
Then, the conclusion saw an array of reactions as Charlotte Flair tore-up Lilly. Bliss broke down in tears and showed anger.
Maybe, it is time for Bliss to return to her old gimmick. Without the ThunderDome or Bray Wyatt, her current gimmick no longer works. Grade: B

United States Championship: Damian Priest vs Sheamus vs. Jeff Hardy
In the beginning, I honestly was not digging the match. And, I could not understand why as all three superstars are good workers.
So, I was happy when the pace picked-up. Plus, it seemed like Sheamus and Jeff Hardy did most of the work.
And, truthfully, it helped as Hardy and Sheamus know each other very well. Also, that is not a knock on Damien Priest as he is fun to watch. Grade: B+

New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) vs Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles & Omos
It seemed odd that Big E was not booked on the show, especially because he recently won the WWE Championship. Then, WWE did a quick backstage segment to create a big six person tag team match.
Usually, I am not a fan when WWE books a pay per view match last minute. Although, having such a group on talent (minus Omos), it made for a great start to the main card.
The miscommunication makes me think AJ Styles, Big E and Bobby Lashley will now feud. Also, Big E again pinned Lashley. Grade: B+

SmackDown Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair
The first match lasted like 30 seconds and fans were not happy. So, naturally, this match had to top the previous one.
Becky has not really wrestled in like eighteen months. Meanwhile, Bianca Belair has been active and really pushed by WWE.
Honestly, both were delivering a great match and then Sasha Bank’s return ruined it. I like Banks, but the match deserved a winner. Grade: B+

SmackDown Tag Team Championship: The Usos vs The Street Profits
Two greats teams entered the ring and we hoped they would deliver. Well, that is exactly what they did.
The crowd was totally into the match and understandably so. Therefore, great action that never slowed, from start to finish.
No surprise The Usos kept the titles, but The Street Profits made us believe they could again capture the titles. Plus, hell of a leap to the outside by Montez Ford, even if he lost. Grade: A-

Extreme Rules Match For The Universal Championship: Roman Reigns vs “The Demon” Finn Balor
Considering the name of the pay per view, one would expect several gimmick matches. Usually, WWE likes to have every match have at least a stipulation.
Besides the main event, every other match was standard. Therefore, I was hoping Roman Reigns and “The Demon” Finn Balor took things to the extreme.
Usually, “The Demon” is unbeatable, but that was not the case against a heel Reigns. A good amount of weapons used and some hard-hitting spots, so there is nothing bad to say. Grade: A-
