Samoa Joe’s in-ring return could be happening soon, if you believe what MVP says. Also, the latest on why three wrestlers were released from AEW.

Samoa Joe’s In-Ring Return

There have been lots of changes taking place in WWE, both behind the scenes and on camera. One of those included Samoa Joe working at the announce table on RAW.

If you believe MVP, then Joe will be leaving the announce table again for a run inside a WWE ring. MVP recently spoke with Phillip Martinez of Newsweek and went into further details.

“What I understand, Samoa Joe is gonna be back in action,” said MVP. “Over the years Samoa Joe and I have been great friends, but we’ve never ever faced each other. At this stage of my career, I think I feel a lot more confident facing him, knowing that I got Bobby [Lashley] and Shelton [Benjamin] backing me up.”

“But, I also know that wouldn’t phase Joe in the least. There’s a number of guys that are coming along and that I’m looking forward to having an opportunity to work with in some capacity.”

MVP returned to the WWE earlier in the year and worked a few matches before announcing his retirement. He was given a backstage producer role, but then COVID-19 hit hard.

With WWE letting most of their producers go, MVP was offered and accepted a new deal as on-air talent. Besides leading The Hurt Business, he continues to wrestle and is in a program now for the United States Championship.

Samoa Joe’s Recent Setbacks

Despite the popularity, Joe has been forced to deal with several injuries on the main roster. The most recent setback started in 2019 as Joe broke his thumb.

He would miss months of action and returned at the end of 2019. Only a few weeks later, he suffered a concussion and then another seven days later shooting a commercial.

To add, he was also suspended 30 days for violating the Wellness Policy. Upon completing the suspension, Joe returned to the announce table for the second time in his career.

Considering how Joe has been getting involved in Seth Rollins’ recent storyline with the Mysterio family, that could be an easy way to get him back in the ring.

Reason For Recent AEW Releases

AEW

Yesterday, All Elite Wreslting (AEW) removed the profiles of three wrestlers. Thereby, indicating they are no longer with the promotion.

Jimmy Havoc, Bea Priestley and Sadie Gibbs are gone from AEW effective August 13. Each person was released for various reasons.

Havoc was suspended as part of #SpeakingOut moment due his previous sexual behaviors. He was sent to rehab and a decision about his future would be made at a later date.

Well, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW felt they had to release havoc because of the accusations. He remains the only AEW wrestler let go as part of the movement.

Since neither Priestley or Gibbs could travel into the United States, they were also released. Both seemed well liked and could return once the pandemic improves.

AEW has been able to bring in some talent despite the travel ban, but others like PAC are stuck in Europe. Considering PAC is a bigger star than Priestley and Gibbs, AEW has kept him under contract.
