Samoa Joe Future In Doubt

Is Samoa Joe’s Future In Doubt?

Samoa Joe Future In Doubt

While no one is questioning Samoa Joe’s talent and ability, that does not mean there may not be other questions. Over the last month, it is believed that the WWE Superstar suffered not one, but two concussions. WWE does not typically confirm concussions of Superstars. Regardless, with two suspected concussions and having just returned from a thumb injury, it’s not a good look. Is Samoa Joe’s future in doubt?

Maybe…maybe not….

This is not to imply that Joe does have an injury-prone nature, though at least his time with WWE seems to say maybe. The concern here, as pointed out by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, is that Vince McMahon may begin to see Joe as fragile. If the boss sees him as fragile, he may very well shy away from using Joe in big spots.

Should Vince McMahon come to that conclusion-whether it’s right or wrong-that could have serious implications for Samoa Joe’s long term viability as a WWE Superstar.

In the short term, I’d bet many fans would be on board with having Joe back at commentary. His presence there while recovering from his thumb injury was a breath of fresh air. You can see how, if Joe should choose to do so, he could totally transition to the booth once his active wrestling career ends.

Long term, that remains to be seen. Many fans, myself included, would hope to see Joe get a chance as the number one top guy. Perhaps it’s just bad timing and bad luck, and before too long the last few months of his career will be but a distant and disappointing memory in an otherwise impressive resume.

Will Ronda Rousey Be At WrestleMania?

Ronda Rousey

Fans have not seen Ronda Rousey in nearly a year. As we got on the Road to WrestleMania, many may have wondered: will we see Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 36?

That answer, at least thus far, looks to be a decidedly strong no. It is entirely possible things may change, or plans may be a very closely guarded secret. If it were strictly up to the WWE officials, however, Rousey would be on the card. Per the Observer, WWE wanted to make use of Rousey somehow or other. Apparently the former UFC and WWE Champion is happy with her current situation and has not expressed interest in working the Tampa show.

At this point, speculation is now ramping up on seeing Rousey at next year’s big event instead. With WrestleMania 37 in Los Angeles, breaking in that new stadium, expect a big show. McMahon and WWE are rightfully expected to pull out some bigger names for the massive show. The Rock has already been mentioned. Expect to hear Ronda Rousey’s on that same short list. Could next year finally give us the Rock and Rousey versus Hunter and Stephanie? That was teased at the last WrestleMania in California, but when we finally got Rousey in WWE, it was with Kurt Angle, not The Rock.

That mixed tag match, however, would certainly seem to fit the bill of a major marquee match up.
