The WWE Universe doesn’t get to see John Cena on a full-time basis like the good old days. Still, fans do tend to expect some sort of involvement from Cena once WrestleMania rolls around.

In a recent interview, John Cena updated everyone on what his WM 37 status is.

John Cena’s WrestleMania 37 Status

Whether a match or promo segment, the WWE Universe has been used to seeing John Cena involved with WrestleMania in some capacity. He may no longer have a full-time role with the company, but he’s pretty much always at the flagship event.

While speaking with Sports Illustrated recently, Cena offered insight into what his WM 37 status would be.

The Cenation leader is filming the Peacemaker spin-off in Vancouver, Canada right now. The HBO Max Suicide Squad series has kept him busy for some time now. Sadly, due to new COVID-19 travel restrictions in Canada, trips back and forth to the U.S. are challenging.

The Canadian government has placed quarantine restrictions(14 days) on anyone entering the country.

There’s also a new travel restriction in Canada that has been implemented as of late. It states travelers entering the country need to provide a negative COVID test.

Both these rules make it logistically impossible for John Cena to be at this year’s WrestleMania. The quarantine Cena would have to adhere to would essentially shut down the Peacemaker’s filming.

Some early reports suggested that John was supposed to have some sort of role at this year’s Grandest Stage of Them All. Seems as if this is another case of how far this pandemic stretches and restricts.

Cena will certainly be missed at this year’s WrestleMania. Now that he provided a status update, maybe Christian can fill in the void that Cena’s absence has left?

Christian Cleared For WWE Run

Who else loved seeing the reunion between Edge and Christian this past Sunday at the 2021 Royal Rumble? It was a great moment.

It was also incredible to see Christian back in the squared circle, in general. Wondering if this is a return or a one-off appearance?

As per F4WOnline, while it was once thought that Christian’s in-ring career was over, he was “secretly” cleared to return to action by the WWE last week. It is uncertain how much he’ll wrestle in the near future, but he is expected to be seen in more matches moving forward.

This is exciting news for all of Christian’s “peeps”, as the WWE Universe starts along the Road to WrestleMania. Could Christian and Edge team up during Monday Night RAW, SmackDown, or a pay-per-view at some point?

Could Christian have a high-profile singles’ match on the horizon? The opportunities are endless, and only time will tell.
