It seems the AEW future of Don Callis could be a lengthy one. Also, NXT’s Kavita Devi denies she was released by WWE in May.
Don Callis – AEW Future
Don Callis has been in the wrestling business for decades. His most known appearances are those for Impact Wrestling and AEW.
When Impact Wrestling went through major management changes a few years back, Callis gained power. Although, he is longer listed as an executive for Impact Wrestling.
Towards the second half of 2020, Callis was spotted at the AEW announce table. Then, at Winter Is Coming, he revealed his alliance with Kenny Omega as he helped him capture the AEW Championship.
“We take, we take and we take a little more.” @TheDonCallis

Since then, Omega and Callis have been appearing for both promotions. Along the way, Omega has started to collect a slew of titles.
Following Double or Nothing, Tony Khan spoke about the future of Callis. He does not see him parting with AEW at all.
Don Callis’ Current Role
“Don is a big part of our television,” said Khan. “Don’s here every week, so Don is with us at AEW. He’s a part of the team as Kenny’s mouthpiece, Kenny’s advisor, and Kenny is on the show every week so Don is on the show every week, and every pay-per-view. As long as Kenny is the champion, Don is a huge part of AEW. Don is an important member of the team here every week.”
“I mean, he’s been [helping behind-the-scenes]. He helps with Kenny’s segments and he’s involved and he’s a consultant backstage.”
“I mean, that’s pretty much the same. He’s doing that here and there was a point where he’s been here every week. I think it makes sense.”
“We’re doing TV now, we’re going back live in a few weeks, so he’s going to be here. I think Kenny is signed here for years, so I think Don will be here for years, like it or not.”
Whether Khan is playing up the storyline or there is truth to his statement is not known. Although, many believe Callis is done with Impact Wrestling when it pertains to a management role.
NXT Superstar Not Released
Back in May, WWE released several superstars. NXT’s Kavita Devi was listed as one of those let go, but she is denying those reports.
While speaking to The Hindustan Times, Devi noted how she is dealing with an ACL tear back in India. At the same time, India is not doing well in regard to their battle with COVID.
She told the media how she has been in India since January. At one point, her husband contracted the virus and her mother-law also passed away.
“[WWE] understands that India is where I need to be,” said Devi. “We are working together on a new arrangement that allows me to be home, but still part of the WWE Universe.”
For now, Devi will work as a WWE Ambassador for India. The job description rather is open, but Devi is responsible for improving the relationships between India and WWE.
“India continues to be a very important market for WWE with some of the most passionate fans in the world,” said Devi. “I will still be involved as an ambassador for WWE in India.”
“In the future that may mean I am involved in scouting new talent or with WWE live events. Anything, is possible.”
She pointed to the recent signing of Sanjana George. That talent recently signed a developmental contract.
Devi is former powerlifter who signed with WWE in October 2017. In the process, she became hate first female of Inidian nationality to wrestle for WWE.
She last fought almost a year ago on July 27, 2019. That was a NXT live event, where she lost to Io Shirai.
