Awards season continues with this year’s Grammys given out on February 2nd. The night was filled with laughter, smiles, tears, and performances as new and solidified artists received awards. If you only watch for the Grammy performances, check out our ranking of the six best based on sound, presentation, and impact.
6. The Weeknd

Sixth on our list of Grammy performances is The Weeknd, who broke his four-year boycott with a stellar performance of hit songs “Cry For Me” and “Timeless.” The red lighting was reminiscent of his Super Bowl performance in Tampa Bay, and a troupe of red-clothed dancers set the tone for the night. While his outfit choices were a little strange, his vocals showed exactly why he has been at the top of the music charts.

5. Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars

There’s nothing better than a duet, which was exactly what Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars did for their Grammy performances. Later, their duet “Die With a Smile” won the Best Pop Duo/Group Grammy. They performed “California Dreaming” to those affected by the California wildfires. While the pair did not move much around the stage, the vocals and eclectic clothing sold this performance, landing it fifth on our list.
4. Raye

While she may have only performed one song to highlight her nomination in the Best New Artist category, it is no wonder why Raye was nominated for a total of two Grammys that night. Her performance of “Oscar Winning Tears” was stunning, from her outfit to her incredible vocals at the song’s ending. If she continues to put out music like this, Raye will be in the Grammys for years to come.

3. Billie Eilish

Of course, Billie Eilish‘s “Birds of a Feather” ranks top three in our list of Grammy performances. Eilish and brother Finneas put together a fun performance of a song that has impacted thousands of fans and was nominated for several Grammys. While Eilish did not win any awards, her lyrical prowess and vocals show why she continues to be at the forefront of pop music.
2. Chappell Roan

Receiving her first Grammy is not the only thing Chappell Roan did on the Grammys stage. Her performance of the hit “Pink Pony Club” lands second on our Grammy performances list, filled with clowns, dancing, and beautiful vocals. Roan knows how to perform in front of a crowd, even putting the mike to the rest of the superstars in the building to sing her song. We cannot wait to see what else she has in store.

1. Sabrina Carpenter

Last but not least for the best Grammy performances is Sabrina Carpenter, who also won her first Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. Carpenter did a mashup of two songs, “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.” Filled with funny ad-lib moments, tap dancing, and a jazzy intro, Carpenter made this performance memorable and fresh. Who knows what her next album will bring us?
