The world’s biggest star, Taylor Swift, was somehow completely boxed out of the Grammy Awards, despite being nominated for six different categories and despite coming off one of, if not the biggest, tours in history.
Swift Loses Big At The Grammys
Swift, 35, had been nominated for Album of the Year for “The Tortured Poets Department.” She lost out this award to Beyoncé, 43, who won for her album Cowboy Carter. Had Swift won, it would have been her fifth win in this category.
Beyonce won the award, despite her “country” album not even being nominated for the Country Music Awards.
On the other hand, Swift’s Eras Tour was one of the most smashing successes imaginable: nearly 150 shows, five continents, 10 million attendees, and over $2 billion in ticket sales.
Think the game is rigged?
Heading into Sunday night’s Grammy Awards, Swift was nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for The Tortured Poets Department, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Music Video for “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her “Us.” collaboration with Gracie Abrams. Unfortunately for Swift, however, she didn’t win any of these awards.

Swift Presents Best Country Music Album
Swift had the opportunity to present the Grammy Award for the Best Country Music Album to Beyoncé. When she accepted the award, Beyoncé encouraged her fans to “stay persistent.”
“Wow, I want to thank God that I’m able to still do what I love after so many years,” Beyoncé said in her acceptance speech. “Oh, my God, I’d like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this, this album we worked so hard on it.”
“I think sometimes genre is a Cold War to keep us in a place as artists. And I just want to encourage people to do this,” she continued. “Wow, I like to thank my beautiful family, all of the artists that were collaborators. Thank you. This wouldn’t have been this album without you. Like to thank God again and my fans. And I still am in shock, thank you so much for this honor.”
After the 2025 Grammy Award nominations were announced, Swift was open about how honored she was to receive so much recognition for “The Tortured Poets Department.”
“You guys did something so amazing over the course of the last few months. I just mean what you did with embracing ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ the album,” she said during a concert in November.
“It’s truly blown my mind because it’s really emotional for me that this album, I wrote it during the Eras Tour,” she added.
Swift’s Super Bowl Plans
Swift attended the Grammy Awards solo this year. Her boyfriend Travis Kelce, 35, is currently in New Orleans preparing for next weekend’s Super Bowl with is team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Swift, of course, will be in attendance to cheer on Kelce.
While Swift was undoubtedly humiliated to walk away empty handed at the Grammy Awards last night, it’s likely that she’s not dwelling on the losses too much, given everything else that is going on in her life right now. Here’s hoping that Swift is able to bounce back from this enough to enjoy the Super Bowl next weekend!
