Donald Trump has given a boost to the economy even before he has taken office. On the heels of Carrier announcing they canceled plans to move 1,000 jobs to Mexico, US Steel CEO Mario Longhi said that because of the incoming administration, the steel industry are hiring back up to 10,000 employees.

This is amazing news for these workers during the holiday time. Trump’s business friendly approach is giving a shot of adrenaline to the economy and American workers.

From CNBC:

“We already structured to do some things, but when you see in the near future improvement to the tax laws, improvements to regulation, those two things by themselves may be a significant driver to what we’re going to do,” he (Longhi)  said in an interview with CNBC’s “Power Lunch.”

In addition, the belief that the U.S. economy can grow at least 3.5 percent also adds to what the company can do, Longhi noted.

“I’d be more than happy to bring back the employees we’ve been forced to lay off during that depressive period,” he said, which “could be close to 10,000 jobs.”

U.S. Steel did clarify that Longhi was referring to the steel industry in general and not specifically U.S. Steel.

You can hear Longhi make this welcomed announcement in the interview below. The company has seen an 80% increase in the price of its stock shares since Trump’s election.

This is remarkable news. President-elect Trump won’t be sworn in for over a month and we are already seeing dramatic changes. Eight years of Obama’s heavy handed regulations have stifled businesses. It’s time to get back to work!
