Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, movie buffs finally have a trailer for the upcoming Twinless movie starring Dylan O’Brien. The basic concept for the movie is already one of the most acclaimed movies of the year, so fans should have high hopes.

The comedy drama directed by James Sweeney is set to release on September 5 and follows a duo of grieving men, Roman and Dennis, who meet in a support group and form an unlikely friendship. As the movie suggests, the main character, O’Brien, lost the person he’s closest to, his twin. As Dennis and Roman’s relationship grows, their bond becomes stronger, but as the movie progresses, it takes an increasingly dark tone.
After its premiere at the film festival, the Twinless movie has earned raves from critics and hardware from the fans. Twinless was one of the top-reviewed movies at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, earning a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Alongside Dylan O’Brien, known for his roles in Teen Wolf and The Maze Runner, the movie stars the director himself, Sweeney, playing another twin in the group that connects with O’Brien’s character.
The movie supporting cast includes Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls), Cree (Turtles All the Way Down), Katie Findlay (How to Get Away with Murder), Kody Harvard (Test Screening), and Akira Chantaratananond (Evil Lies Here).
