News has been circulating about the next installment to one of the biggest Pixar franchises of all time. And the wait is almost over, as fans have just seen the first Toy Story 5 images.
Pixar’s official website revealed the first Toy Story 5 poster, showing off Woody and Buzz at each other’s sides along with the movie’s logo, and fans can’t be happier to see the two iconic characters return. While both characters are donning their iconic looks, Buzz has one notable change with a sheriff’s badge that was originally handed off to Jessie at the end of Toy Story 4.
The upcoming movie still has a ways to go, though, as the poster reveals that the movie should hit theaters on June 19, 2026. The release will be nearly seven years after the fourth installment. Even though Woody decided to start his new life with Bo Peep, the remaining toys stayed with their owner, Bonnie. But it’s clear that the iconic cowboy will be returning for the fifth entry.
It’s also been confirmed that Tom Hanks will return to his role as Woody and Tim Allen will come back as Buzz.
Not much else has been revealed about the film, though. The only information fans have is that the toys will be up against modern-day technology, and the toys will have to compete against electronics to win the attention of their owner.
Along with the poster reveal, Pixar also released a bit of concept art of Bonnie engrossed on an electronic device, like a tablet, with the toys watching over her in worry and anxiety.
With a look at the next installment, thanks to the Toy Story 5 images that have been revealed, it’s clear that this will be an exciting, new look at the popular franchise. And it’ll be interesting to see how Pixar handles the conversation with the rapid swap to electronics and more advanced toys compared to the older generation of toys.
