Many of us grew up in a time when children had rubber dolls. We were able to move and manipulate these dolls to make them lifelike.

A lot of care went into making these dolls. There were a lot of steps and an awful lot of hands involved in creating them. The video below shows a rubber doll factory in Britain in 1957 where dolls of all sorts were created.

Not only are these 1950s toys completely different than ones that kids have today, but notice how the women dress at work. As you can see, these manual workers are dressed professionally and it’s rather obvious they take a lot of pride in their work.

It was quite the endeavor to make one doll! Today most of this is automated, but back then each doll had a personalized touch being created by so many hard working women.
