Back in 2011, Sean Marceau was devastated when his beloved Marine son Joe Jackson was killed while serving overseas in Afghanistan. As if this family has not been through enough, Marceau is now speaking out after his son’s American flag was stolen by an unknown perpetrator.

The Daily Caller reported that the flag was stolen from Marceau’s truck along with other items last month. Marceau appeared on “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday morning to ask for the flag that his son fought and died for to be returned to his family.

“We have a memorial every year. And leading up to it I was looking for his flag — my car was broken into before that,” Marceau said. “I started frantically looking and I couldn’t find it. I told my wife. So we went to the memorial. After that, I kept looking and I said ‘Oh, no. It was in the truck.’”

Marceau said that the theft of the flag enraged him, and he’s calling on members of his local Washington state community to help him get it back. He’s asking people in central Washington to check pawn shops and secondhand stores in case someone tried to sell the flag.

“Look in pawn stores. Look in Goodwills, whatever. Whatever second-hand store you have that might be there. I know this is a last-ditch effort but it means everything to us,” he concluded. “It means everything to the 17 that were killed in that deployment. It means everything to all those 190 that were wounded that time. It doesn’t just affect me, it touches a lot of people. Especially my family but a lot of the Marines that served with Joe … They would like it back.”

This family has already made the ultimate sacrifice by losing the son they loved. They do not deserve to be victimized once again by losing the flag that he gave his life for.
