teen one leg stands national anthem

Colin Kaepernick makes tens of millions of dollars a year for being a mediocre backup quarterback who thinks he’s engaging in “social justice” by being a jerk and kneeling during the playing of the national anthem. You’ve probably never heard of Wesley Baker.

He’s a former high school football player who suffered a terrible injury when he was hit by an 18 wheeler as he walked on Highway 701 in Conway, South Carolina. He lost a leg and suffered brain damage.

But guess what Wesley did? Despite the trauma and despite his condition, HE STOOD UP when the national anthem was played.

His mom Debra Phipps said that Wesley worked hard so he was able to stand for the playing of the national anthem at the Conway High School football game.

“It feels like a dream. I’ve asked God for three years… when his accident took place I said, ‘God please let my son walk again and talk again,’ and day by day, he’s shown me miracles,” the proud mother said.

While NFL players like Kaepernick are taking a knee or turning their backs during the National Anthem, Wesley put in three years of therapy and rehabilitation for the ability to stand for the anthem.

“Wesley, he’s worked hard, he’s lost his leg and he had a right to sit down, but now God is giving him the strength to stand up, and we all need to stand up for America,” Debra Phipps added.

THAT is bravery. THAT is courage. THAT is to be applauded. Not some spoiled punk who’s not even playing at a level deserving of the money he gets paid.

Even as he faced so many obstacles, Wesley Baker wanted to stand for the National Anthem. This should be seen by so many other people.

Share it so they can see what a true patriot looks like!
