18-year-old Romina Garcia got quite a lot of attention when she posted an Instagram video declaring that women need to find a man who hits them as it’s a sign of love. She claimed that a man must love a woman if he is risking jail for them.
Dr. Phil had Garcia on his show to see if she actually meant what she said and to warn others who may also have been fed this outlandish accusation.
The talk show host said he normally wouldn’t give this sort of nonsense a platform, but he was concerned because over 5 million people had seen her video promoting abusive relationships. Dr. Phil wanted to warn other women not to take this advice.
He also wanted to give Garcia a chance to recount her words or see if she was joking. Instead, she doubled down, claiming she deserved to be hit and appreciates the love that is given by her man with each black eye.
Garcia was either playing everyone or honestly believes this insanity. Watch the video below to see for yourself!
This video greatly increased Garcia’s social media following. Many wanted relationship advice from this teen who saw being physically abused as a sign of love.
Garcia had some tricks up her sleeve which might signify that her viral video was just a cry for attention. A year after her appearance, rumors circulated that she had died at the hands of her boyfriend, but of a heroin overdose. Even Kylie Jenner tweeted her condolences for Romina Garcia.
Rest in peace angel @loveeromina

However, this must have been a hoax as Romina is still tweeting from that account today, even as some still claim she is dead.
Hopefully, nobody took her awful advice to heart. Hitting someone isn’t a sign of love. It’s quite the opposite and she could have put someone in a life-threatening position for promoting it.
Share this if you think she’s crazy!
