Taylor Swift is currently one of the biggest artists today. She’s an absolute machine when it comes to producing content and entertaining her fans, even if it means hinting at secrets years in advance. She’s also known for making a joke at her expense. For instance, Taylor Swift roasts herself in a new video promoting her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl.
Over a month after announcing her 12th studio album, the pop star revealed new variations of her album on an Instagram video she posted on Monday, September 29th, that showed her directing herself with a megaphone.
In the video, she showed off one of her variations, The Crowd is Your King Edition on Summertime Spritz Pink Shimmer Vinyl, which is only available at Target starting October 3rd.
“Alright, we are still rolling, we’re going to try this again, ok?” Swift tells herself, adding, “We’re elegant, we’re luxurious, we’re in front of the most beautiful pink vinyl we’ve ever seen.”
Swift quickly changes her tone, becoming critical as the showgirl version of herself poses awkwardly after throwing a handful of confetti, saying, “What is going on with the posture? It’s giving ‘No girl,’ not ‘Showgirl,'” she says.
“She’s got cat hair all over her,” director Swift tells someone off camera. “Is there a school we could very quickly send her to? Come on, honey, this is show business.”
It’s a hilarious video that not only shows off the upcoming release of her limited edition vinyl, but it also shows that, while Taylor Swift is constantly ripped apart by critics, she’s taking it with a grain of salt and can make a joke out of it at the end of the day.
She’s also known for being her biggest critic, believe it or not, with how atrociously some of the media treat her. She revealed her self-scrutinizing nature in her 2020 documentary on Netflix titled, Miss Americana.
So while Taylor Swift roasts herself constantly, whether in mocking her haters or from her own nature, her recent Instagram video is one you don’t want to miss if you want a limited edition vinyl.
Swifties, get ready, because the album release is almost here. For those who want to grab The Life of a Showgirl, the album releases Friday, October 3rd. And be sure to head to your nearest Target to grab one of her variations, available while supplies last.
