Finally, fans have got some insight now that Sydney Sweeney addresses the Bond girl rumors. It’s been over four years since the last installment, No Time to Die, and we still have no idea who will step into the shoes of 007. But it’s not just the new Bond role that everyone is talking about. Fans are also curious about who will be the next Bond girl.

In a recent interview, Sweeney was questioned about the rumors and was taken aback, as if unsure what exactly she should, or perhaps could, say. “I can’t,” Sweeney said.

“I don’t know. To be honest, I don’t know all the Bond rumors, but I’ve always been a huge fan of the franchise, and I’m excited and curious to see what they do with it.”

When asked if she would want to join the franchise and if she feels as though she would fit, she responded with, “Depends on the script.”

“I think I’d have more fun as James Bond,” she joked. Given her stellar career path as of late, there’s no doubt that she would excel.

The rumors of Sweeney joining the franchise started in the summer, when an insider claimed both Amazon boss Jeff Bezos and Bond 26 director Denis Villeneuve were eyeing the star for the role. “Sydney is the top name on the casting sheet for Bond,” a source said.

“Denis believes she is hugely talented, as well as having an alluring appeal to younger generations, vital in modernizing the franchise,” the source continued. “They’ve hung out together a lot, and he has admired her stratospheric rise.”

Is this a suggestion that perhaps the James Bond franchise is taking a different direction with casting? This could be a huge hint to the franchise. On the other hand, sources suggested that the director is looking for a “fresh face” who is an “unknown” male British actor in his late 20s or early 30s.

Either way it goes, information is still very slim, but fans are eager to get back into the franchise. If you want the latest news on your favorite celebrity or movie, then keep checking back here for the most up-to-date news.
