In March, Morgan Wallen performed two songs on the sketch show from his upcoming album, I’m the Problem, which will feature a staggering 37 tracks. During the closing credits, Wallen was seen standing next to the guest host, Mikey Madison, and quickly whispered something to her and walked off.

After the incident, Wallen was bashed for his abrupt leave, especially after the cast looked towards him as he walked off with confusion. Wallen posted later that night on Instagram a picture of his private jet on the runway with a caption saying “Get me to God’s country.”
Morgan Wallen with a little more of the catty-ass petty loser shit he so proudly displayed running offstage down the center aisle & right past the camera at SNL curtain call…

Recently, though, Wallen appeared on Caleb Pressley’s Sundae Conversations, where the host asked about his departure, asking Wallen if the cast made him mad.

To which Wallen replied, “No, no, I was just ready to go home. I’d been there all week.” When Pressley brought up Wallen’s Instagram post, Wallen just smiled and said, “Yeah.”
Interestingly enough, Kenan Thompson spoke about this interview with Entertainment Weekly, saying, “I don’t know what goes through people’s minds when they decide to do stuff like that. I don’t know if he understood the assignment or not or if he was really feeling a certain kind of way.”
Wallen didn’t seem to see the issue, though, and even leaned into the controversy by launching “Get Me to God’s Country” merchandise on his website. Whether he’s trying to make light of it or drive it home, who knows?
While it was certainly not the best time to make a dramatic exit, it seems as though Wallen has moved on from the situation entirely. It was obvious that Wallen didn’t enjoy the city life, but obviously, things could have been handled a bit better on everyone’s part.
