
After a huge response to our first collection of child actors who went on to have huge careers, we are back with seven more. Each of these actors and actresses started their careers young, but this did not impede them from transitioning into adult roles and even directorial roles. 7. Mayim Bialik

Starting our list of child actors is Mayim Bialik. She started her career in the late 1980s with roles in Pumpkinhead and guest appearances on The Facts of Life and Beauty and the Beast. She earned his first Screen Actors Guild card from her performance in Beauty in the Beast and also appeared in MacGyver, Beaches, and Blossom. Her most recognizable role, though, comes in her adult career as Amy Farrah Fowler in the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory.

6. Jodi Foster

Next up on our child actors list is Jodie Foster, an actress and filmmaker. Foster started young and gained recognition as a teen through Napoleon and Samantha, Freaky Friday, and Candleshoe. Her performance in Scorsese’s Taxi Driver got her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Since her younger years, Foster has won two Academy Awards, three BAFTA Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award, among others.

5. Sean Astin

Fifth on our list of child actors is Sean Astin. You might remember him best from The Goonies, the first acting role he landed. After playing Mickey Walsh, Astin appeared in Toy Soldier, Rudy, The Lord of the Rings, 50 First Dates, and more. Astin’s accolades include a Screen Actors Guild Award and two Young Artist Awards. You may have seen him most recently. in Stranger Things and Love Hurts.

4. Christina Ricci

Dive into the world of spooky child actors with Christina Ricci. Her young career started with standout performances in The Addams Family and Casper. As she grew older, Ricci continued to tackle challenging characters in The Ice Storm and Monster. Ricci’s career was one that flawlessly transitioned to adulthood, with her most recently in Yellowjackets and Wednesday.

3. Leonardo DiCaprio

Rounding out our top three child actors is Leonardo DiCaprio, who is known for his roles in biographical and period films. DiCaprio started his career in television commercials, landing his first major film part in 1993’s This Boy’s Life. He continued to steal hearts with his performances in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Romeo + Juliet, and Titanic. He has received numerous accolades during his career, including an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, and three Golden Globes.

2. Jason Bateman

Second on our list of child actors is Jason Bateman, who has added directorial credits in his adult career. Bateman started in television with roles in Little House on the Prairie and The Hogan Family. Early film credits include Teen Wolf Too and Necessary Roughness. You may recognize Bateman more in his recent roles, appearing in The Outsider, Carry-On, Game Night, Arrested Development, and more.

1. Drew Barrymore

Last but most certainly not least on our list of child actors is Drew Barrymore. Her career started with a breakout role in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial at seven years old, but Barrymore took a hiatus until the 1990s with Poison Ivy and The Wedding Singer. After creating her production company, Flower Films, Barrymore continued to flourish in the film industry, appearing in Never Been Kissed and Charlie’s Angels. Successful producing projects include Donnie Darko and 50 First Dates.
