Yesterday, we reported that the wife of the Weezer bassist Scott Shriner was shot by police outside her home on Wednesday after pointing a gun at officers. She was then arrested for attempted murder.

Now, Shriner has broken his silence about the situation.

Shriner Breaks His Silence

The New York Post caught up with Shriner as he walked his dogs near his home on Thursday afternoon. Reporters immediately asked how his wife Jillian Lauren, 51, is doing in the wake of the shooting.

“She’s alright, thank you for asking,” Shriner, 59, said as he kept walking. “See you at Coachella!” he added as he walked back into his gated home. It appears that despite everything that has happened, Shriner still plans to play his Coachella gig with his band tomorrow.

That should be one interesting performance, to say the least.

Shriner’s Wife Shot By Police

The strange series of events that led to Lauren being shot and arrested began to unfold on Wednesday afternoon. This incident occurred in the northeast Los Angeles neighborhood of Eagle Rock, where Shriner and Lauren live with their two children. It all started when a male suspect entered Lauren’s neighbor’s property after he was involved in a three-car crash on the 134 Freeway.

“While hiding from officers who set up a perimeter in the area, the man stripped down to his boxer shorts before jumping in a resident’s swimming pool and watering some plants in a bizarre attempt to blend into the neighborhood,” Daily Mail reported.

It was then that Lauren came out of the home that she shares with Shriner, holding a gun. Officers told her to drop the weapon multiple times, but she refused to do so. Instead, Lauren pointed it at police. According to the latest updates from the LAPD, Lauren actually opened fire on one officer.

“Our investigation revealed evidence such as a shell casing and video footage showing she repeatedly ignored police commands to disarm and that she fired her weapon at LAPD officers. She was subsequently booked for attempted murder of a peace officer,” LAPD spokesperson Jennifer Forkish told People Magazine.

Lauren ended up being shot in the shoulder. Once she was hit, she ran back into her home, only to reemerge with a babysitter minutes later. Video shows both women walking out of the home with their hands raised as officers told them to walk down the driveway.

Lauren Booked For Attempted Murder

Lauren proceeded to tell officers that she was simply trying to defend her own home from the male suspect. She was then taken to a nearby medical facility. As she was transported there, Lauren was absentee booked on suspicion of attempted murder. She has been left with what paramedics described as a “non-life-threatening gunshot wound.”

Lauren was eventually released on a $1 million bond. Police do not believe that she was involved in the initial hit-and-run that sparked this bizarre series of events. They were also able to apprehend the male suspect involved in that incident.

Lauren is a bestselling author who wrote two hit memoirs: 2010’s “Some Girls: My Life in a Harem” and 2015’s “Everything You Ever Wanted.” She has been married to Shriner since 2005, and she has yet to comment on this incident.

Since the LAPD is now saying that Lauren actually did fire on police, it’s definitely not looking good for her moving forward. Perhaps Shriner might want to cancel his Coachella gig, and use that time to start finding a good lawyer for his wife.
