Earlier this year, we reported that Rosie O’Donnell had fled the United States to move to Ireland. Now, President Donald Trump is doubling down on his previous threat to revoke O’Donnell’s citizenship.

Trump Considers Revoking O’Donnell’s Citizenship

“As previously mentioned, we are giving serious thought to taking away Rosie O’Donnell’s Citizenship,” Trump, 79, wrote on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday.

“She is not a Great American and is, in my opinion, incapable of being so!” the president added.

Trump wrote this alongside an unflattering image of O’Donnell, 63. Check it out for yourself below.

Trump had made similar comments on Truth Social back in July.

“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” he wrote on July 12. “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

O’Donnell Responds

After Trump’s latest threat to her citizenship, O’Donnell fired back on Instagram.

“Donnie – stripping my citizenship? cute,” O’Donnell wrote alongside a selfie of herself. “The capital is shaking because Epstein survivors are speaking.”

This was a reference to the late billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Leftists like O’Donnell are convinced that Trump was complicit in Epstein’s sex crimes, even though they have no specific evidence to back this up.

O’Donnell gave a lengthier response on her Substack on Thursday.

“He can’t do that because it’s against the Constitution, and even the Supreme Court has not given him the right to do that … he’s not allowed to do that, the only way you’re allowed to take away someone’s citizenship is if they renounce it themselves, and I will never renounce my American citizenship,” O’Donnell wrote. “I am a very proud citizen of the United States.”

“I am also getting my citizenship here so I can have dual citizenship in Ireland and the United States because I enjoy living here,” she continued. “It’s very peaceful. I love the politics of the country. I love the people and their generous hearts and spirit. And it’s been very good for my daughter. But I still want to maintain my citizenship in the United States. My children are there. I will be there visiting and go to see them. And I have the freedom to do that, as does every American citizen.”

O’Donnell Flees America Over Trump

O’Donnell has long been known as one of the most obsessively anti-Trump celebrities in Hollywood. Given how vehemently anti-Trump the entertainment world is, that’s saying a lot!

In fact, O’Donnell despises Trump so much that she moved across the globe just to get away from him. Indeed, she shocked the world when she fled the U.S. and moved to Ireland with her 12 year-old child Clay back in January.

In June, O’Donnell admitted to the former CNN host Chris Cuomo that she fled America because of Donald Trump’s presidential victory. She even described this move as being one of “self-preservation,” since she greatly struggled during Trump’s first presidency.

“During his first go-round, it was very difficult, and I got myself into some bad places,” said O’Donnell. “You know, I was very, very depressed. I was overeating, I was overdrinking. I was so depressed, Chris.”

In a May interview, O’Donnell claimed to have no regrets about making this move.

“Never, for one moment since I arrived here, did I regret my choice,” O’Donnell told Variety at the time. “People have been so welcoming, so accepting, and they have a different view of celebrity in the culture here. They are not prioritized over other people.”

In another video posted to TikTok, however, O’Donnell admitted that “it’s not easy moving to another country.”

Watch O’Donnell talk more about that in the video below.

Can Trump Revoke O’Donnell’s Citizenship?

Fox News has noted that “The Constitution does not allow a president to strip citizenship of someone born in the U.S. The 14th Amendment grants citizenship to anyone born in the U.S., and O’Donnell was born in Commack, New York.”

Clearly, Trump is just trolling O’Donnell with his citizenship comments. If O’Donnell would like the president to stop doing this, perhaps she shouldn’t make it so easy for herself to be riled up in this way.

Over the past few months, it’s become clear that America is better off without O’Donnell in it. Here’s hoping that O’Donnell stays in Ireland longterm, whether she’s an American citizen or not!
