Meghan Markle was apparently not very popular during her time working at Spotify. In fact, it’s being reported that her co-workers even came up with a special nickname to denigrate her behind her back.

Let’s dive in and see what Meghan’s former co-workers think of her.

Meghan’s Brutal Secret Nickname

U.K. royal correspondent Neil Sean told Fox News that during Meghan’s time at Spotify, the employees “who worked on her ill-fated podcast” that was titled “Archetypes” had a secret nickname for her that she definitely won’t like.

“Ex-staff members… told me they decided to christen her ‘Eva’ and this was used as a warning signal to let people know that she was either arriving or on the warpath,” Sean alleged.

If you think “Eva” is a positive nickname in any way, however, you’re in for a surprise.

“This wasn’t an engaging pet nickname,” Sean continued. “The nickname came from the 1955 camp classic Queen Bee starring the ultimate diva… herself – Joan Crawford… This is because, like the Joan character [Eva Phillips], she stung her victims to pieces. This is exactly how staff felt about working alongside [Meghan].”

“According to the source, she had no idea about any of this,” the royal correspondent added.

The official tagline for Queen Bee on the Turner Classic Movies website states that it tells the story of a “manipulative” socialite who “sets out to destroy the lives of all those around her.”

Brutal!

It sounds like an apt description, if we take Meghan’s co-workers at their word.

Meghan And Harry’s Spotify Fail

After stepping down as senior royals in 2020, Meghan and Harry moved across the world to Southern California. Meghan was born and raised there, and she spent years struggling to make it as an actress there before marrying Harry. Once they made this move, Meghan and Harry signed a $20 million deal with Spotify.

Unfortunately for everyone involved, however, the content Meghan and Harry tried to create for Spotify simply didn’t do well. In 2023, it was announced that Meghan, Harry, and Spotify had mutually decided to part ways. According to Sean, this was a huge relief to the Spotify employees who were tired of dealing with Meghan.

“Behind the scenes, staff [found] Meghan really difficult to deal with, simply because of her… mood swings and just how well certain aspects of her career [were] going,” he explained. “[they] thought she was quite tough and bossy, so decided to [give her] the nickname of that character… She was high camp without realizing it.”

Spotify Sources Speak Out

Multiple Spotify sources reportedly claimed to Sean that Meghan only wanted “to speak to the person at the top” when she worked with them.

“When that person is not around, they have to be reminded that they are dealing with somebody who is a duchess and more importantly, a member of the British royal family,” one source told Sean. “This worked at the beginning as people were… beguiled by Meghan’s presence. But it quickly wore off when she became demanding… clearly forgetting her struggling actress days.”

It certainly seems like the negative stories about Meghan are piling up these days. Only time will tell if this ends up impacting her marriage to Harry!
