The city of Los Angeles, California has descended into chaos as a series of wildfires are raging there. This has impacted countless celebrities, with many of them already losing their homes to the fires.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who live in the ritzy area of Montecito, have now broken their silence to address these wildfires for the first time as the blazes near their $14 million mansion. This comes as Meghan and Harry are in danger of having the power cut at their home due to the wildfires.
Meghan And Harry Break Their Silence
“In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more – affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life,” they said in a statement obtained by Daily Mail. “A state of emergency has been issued. If you feel compelled to help, here are some resources and ideas.”
Meghan and Harry went on to urge anyone who can do so to “open their home” to those impacted by the wildfires. They also called on their fans to make donations to the American Red Cross.
“If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do,” they continued. “And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbors to see if they need help evacuating,”
“Some families and people have been left with nothing. Please consider donating clothing, children’s toys & clothing, and other essentials,” Meghan and Harry added. “The American Red Cross is on the ground helping those in need.”

Meghan And Harry May Lose Power
They released this statement as the local electricity provider Southern California Edison is considering a so-called Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in parts of Santa Barbara county. Meghan and Harry’s mansion is located in one of the areas where this is being considered.
Should their power get cut, Meghan and Harry may have to evacuate their home, which has always been dubbed a “high fire risk.” They might need to leave because having no power could make it difficult to call for emergency help if they need it.
Meghan and Harry bought their lavish nine-bedroom mansion for $14.65million in 2020. Its value is believed to have since doubled to $29 million. Needless to say, Meghan and Harry are likely terrified at the prospect of this mansion going up in smoke.

Celebrities Who Have Lost Their Homes
Sadly, many celebrities have lost their homes to the wildfires already. These stars include James Woods, Anna Faris, and Paris Hilton. Celebrity couples Leighton Meester and Adam Brody and Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have lost their homes as well.
Woods couldn’t help but break down in tears as he talked about his house burning to the ground.
“One day you’re swimming in the pool and the next day it’s all gone,” Woods, 77, told CNN.
“I thought I would be stronger than this,” Woods added as he wiped tears from his eyes.
