The city of Los Angeles, California has descended into chaos as a series of wildfires are raging there. This has impacted countless celebrities, with many of them already losing their homes to the fires.
On Wednesday night, the Oscar-winning actress Jamie Lee Curtis could not help but become emotional as she discussed the situation while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Curtis Gets Emotional Discussing Wildfires
“I’m literally just about to cry,” began Curtis, 66.
Once she was able to compose herself, Curtis continued, “As you know where I live is on fire right now. Literally the entire city of the Pacific Palisades is burning.”
“I flew here last night,” she added, as the show is filmed in New York City. “I was on the plane, started getting texts and it’s gnarly, you guys. It’s just a catastrophe in Southern California. Obviously there have been horrific fires in many places [but] this is literally where I live.”
Curtis went on to say that her local market and many of her friends’ homes have already burned to the ground.
“It’s a really awful situation,” she said. That’s why Curtis pledged to attempt to get home the next day so that she can “try to help my friends.”
Curtis ended this appearance by urging the audience to step up in any way they can.
“Do anything you can,” she concluded. “Anything in your community to help people. Whether you need it or not now, you will need it. Give blood, donate, whatever you can do.”

Curtis Home Is ‘Possibly’ On Fire
This came hours after Curtis addressed the wildfires in an emotional Instagram post.
“My community and possibly my home is on fire.” she wrote. “My family is safe. Many of my friends will lose their homes. Many other communities as well.”
“It is a terrifying situation and I’m grateful to the firefighters and all of the good Samaritans who are helping people get out of the way of the blaze,” she later added. “Neighbors have taken care of neighbors. We ALL take everything for granted because we are all living our lives but when it hits your community, it’s particularly shocking. Life on life’s terms.”
Wednesday should have been a day of celebration for Curtis. Indeed, she was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her work in The Last Showgirl on Wednesday morning. Instead, Curtis spent the day worrying about whether or not her own home would survive the wildfires.

Stars who have already had their homes burn to the ground in these blazes include James Woods, Anna Faris, and Paris Hilton. Celebrity couples Leighton Meester and Adam Brody and Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have lost their homes as well.
