Los Angeles, California has descended into chaos as a series of fires are raging with wind gusts hitting 100 miles per hour in the Palisades and surrounding regions. Indeed, many celebrities have been forced to flee their homes, with some even losing them already.

Sadly, one such celebrity is the Oscar-nominated Hollywood star James Woods, 77. He took to social media on Tuesday to share footage of the fire hitting his neighbor’s home, adding that he was “leaving” his own.

Woods Loses His Home

Once he reached safety, Woods returned to social media to confirm that his house had gone up in smoke. He knew this because “all the smoke detectors are going off in our house and transmitting to our iPhones.”

“I couldn’t believe our lovely little home in the hills held on this long,” Woods added. “It feels like losing a loved one.”

Woods also shared a video that he’d taken from his home just before the fire hit.

“I took this last night from our beautiful little home in the Palisades,” he captioned the video. “Now all the fire alarms are going off at once remotely. It tests your soul, losing everything at once, I must say.”

Watch Woods tell his harrowing story of evacuating his home and rescuing an elderly neighbor in the video below.

More Celebrities Flee

Woods is far from the only celebrity who has had to evacuate his home. The Star Wars actor Mark Hamill, 73, took to social media to say that he has fled his home in Malibu, California. As he left, he saw “small fires on both sides of the road.”

“Most horrific fire since ‘93, STAY SAFE!” he added.

Jamie Lee Curtis, who was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild award on Wednesday morning for her work in The Last Showgirl, took to Instagram to say that her home is “possibly” on fire.

“My community and possibly my home is on fire,” wrote Curtis, 66. “My family is safe. Many of my friends will lose their homes. Many other communities as well. There are so many conflicting reports.”

“It is a terrifying situation and I’m grateful to the firefighters and all of the good Samaritans who are helping people get out of the way of the blaze,” Curtis continued. “Neighbors have taken care of neighbors.”

Curtis concluded her post by begging fans to “pray if you believe in it and even if you don’t, pray for those who do.”

The former American Pie star Eugene Levy, 78, told The Los Angeles Times that he got stuck in traffic while trying to leave his Pacific Palisades neighborhood along with other terrified residents.

“The smoke looked pretty black and intense over Temescal Canyon,” he said. “I couldn’t see any flames but the smoke was very dark.”

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle In Danger

Finally, even Prince Harry, 40, and Meghan Markle, 43, are in danger of having to evacuate from their $14 million mansion in Montecito, California. A spokesperson for Southern California Edison told the Telegraph that the company is considering  power shutdowns in that area because of “a Red Flag Warning and increased risk of wildfires.”

The spokesperson added that “affected customers” were being contacted, “including Montecito.”

This is clearly a devastating time for the people of Southern California. Please join us in saying a prayer for Woods and everyone else impacted by these horrifying fires.
