Earlier this month, we reported that Prince William went “ballistic” when he found out how his sister-in-law Meghan Markle was allegedly bullying her royal staffers. Indeed, this enraged William because the royal family has a long history of treating their staffers like family.
Now, a renowned royal biographer has revealed that the late Queen Elizabeth once snapped at Meghan. She reportedly did so after learning that the wife of Prince Harry had “berated” a royal staffer.
Queen Elizabeth Snaps At Meghan
In her book The New Royals, royal biographer Katie Nicholl wrote about the lead-up to Meghan’s 2018 wedding to Harry. It’s already been widely reported that during that time, Meghan had a falling out with William’s wife Kate Middleton. This allegedly occurred in a dispute over Kate’s daughter Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid’s dress.
According to Nicholl, however, Kate wasn’t the only person that Meghan let loose on before her wedding.
“On one occasion in the run-up to the wedding, Meghan went to Windsor Castle for a menu-tasting and ended up having a tense exchange with a member of staff, according to one source,” Nicholl wrote.
“Meghan was at the castle to taste some of the dishes, and told one of the caterers she could taste egg,” the source recalled. “She got quite upset, saying that the dish was meant to be vegan and macrobiotic.”
Meghan’s “direct approach” with the royal staffer was so aggressive that it was brought to the attention of the Queen. During the record-breaking 70 years that she sat on the British throne, the Queen was incredibly close to her staffers. She was even known to buy them personalized Christmas presents, as they were family to her.
Needless to say, Meghan’s behavior towards this staffer did not sit well with the Queen. In fact, according to the source, the Queen snapped at Meghan over this.
“Suddenly the Queen walked in and said: ‘Meghan, in this family we don’t speak to people like that,'” the insider alleged.

Queen Dresses Meghan Down Once Again
This wouldn’t be the last time that the Queen would have stern words with Meghan over her treatment of staffers.
Royal historian Hugo Vickers has alleged that there was more “trouble” when Harry and Meghan moved to Frogmore Cottage after their marriage. At some point in 2019, Meghan was so rude to an under gardener that the head gardener complained directly to the Queen. Without hesitation, the Queen drove to Frogmore Cottage to give Meghan a piece of her mind.
“The head gardener went to complain to the Queen and she told her off because she obviously didn’t like people being rude to staff,” Vickers told The Sun.
“None of these other stories surprised me,” he continued. “She probably is not very good with staff or people that she’s employing. It’s just very unattractive. You should always be very polite to people who work for you because otherwise they’re going to get very put out.”
Meghan And Harry Step Away From Royal Family
Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior royals in January of 2020. They then moved across the world to Southern California, where Meghan was born and raised. In the years since then, they have spoken out against the royal family seemingly every chance they’ve gotten.
Sadly, the Queen was forced to spend her final years dealing with Meghan and Harry’s antics. Queen Elizabeth died in September of 2022 at the age of 96, with old age being the official cause of death. The way the Queen defended her staffers from Meghan’s attacks reminds us just how classy and generous she truly was.

In the end, the British royal family and their staffers seem to be better off with Meghan and Harry as far away from them as possible. Only time will tell if Meghan and Harry ever try to make a royal return!
