Last month, we reported that The Kelly Clarkson Show had descended into chaos. Indeed, it was being claimed that “heartbroken” staffers were threatening to quit the popular talk show after slamming host Kelly Clarkson for being “ungrateful.”
Yesterday, we reported that this situation has escalated to the point where Clarkson is considering leaving the talk show when her contract expires next year. Now, insiders are claiming that Clarkson had a “breakdown” behind the scenes on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week. It seems that the pressure is finally starting to get to her.
Clarkson’s ‘Breakdown’ On Set
Two different The Kelly Clarkson Show staffers, one of whom is a producer, have spoken out to claim that Clarkson is “tormented” by the decision of whether or not to leave her talk show.
“She’s made it very clear that she doesn’t want her decisions to affect all of our livelihoods… but it’s a bit late for that now,” one staffer told Daily Mail.
“I get that she’s conflicted, but when she says things publicly, it makes the public feel like she doesn’t want to be here,” the staffer continued. “And if she doesn’t want to be here, why should they tune in?”
Clarkson, 43, has reportedly been meeting with high-level producers to talk about the future of her talk show.
“She was emotional,” the staffer alleged. “She was worried about the staff and had a bit of a breakdown about it.”
Clarkson Vents About Her Workplace Frustrations
Clarkson hasn’t released a new album in almost two years. She’s been open about wanting to return to her musical roots. Back in March, Clarkson was absent from her talk show for a stretch of episodes. This forced her producers to bring in guest hosts to replace her. When Clarkson finally came back, she gave no explanation for her absence.
“We haven’t done a [singing] show in a while, y’all, cause I have a talk show,” Clarkson said while performing in Atlantic City last month. “It’s like a whole other job.”
“We are bummed ’cause we love doing [singing] shows, and it’s hard to fit it in,” she added.
When a fan told her that she looked “sexy” onstage, Clarkson took the opportunity to vent about some of her workplace frustrations on her talk show set.
“Every time I go to an HR meeting, I’m like, ‘How have I not been fired?’.. they say you’re not allowed to say someone looks attractive, and I say [expletive] that,” she said.
‘Because some of those [expletives] are out here working, and we’re trying, and I want every mother[expletive] that passes me to go, ‘Well done,'” Clarkson continued.

Clarkson’s Staffers Fire Back
Needless to say, this rant did not sit well with Clarkson’s talk show staffers.
“I cringed when I heard her comments,” one of the staffers admitted. “It’s just not a good look, you know? You don’t want the person whose name is on the show to be trashing the show. Some things just need to be family business.”
“I know that Kelly is worried that she has lost the respect of her team,” this insider continued. “I don’t know that it’s that black and white. There’s nuance there.”
“Everyone understands that she’s gone through some things, and we’re all very sympathetic,” the staffer concluded. “But if she wants to keep our goodwill, she needs to not trash the show, and give us plenty of notice if she decides to bail. That would be the decent thing to do.”
Rumor has it that if Clarkson does leave her talk show, executives already have a replacement in mind. Indeed, they are allegedly eyeing the former TODAY host Hoda Kotb, 60.
The Kelly Clarkson Show has been one of the most popular daytime talk shows ever since it premiered back in 2019. That’s why executives have reportedly been doing everything in their power to try and convince Clarkson to stay. Based on the latest reports, however, it seems that their efforts may have been in vain.
Only time will tell if Clarkson decides to leave her talk show after all!
