The pop star Katy Perry had to pause a concert in Sydney, Australia on Monday night after a deranged fan ambushed her onstage.
Perry Ambushed By Fan
Video that has quickly gone viral shows Perry, 40, singing her 2008 hit song “Hot N Cold.” All seems to be going well until a fan suddenly jumps onstage. Perry can be seen looking visibly terrified as the male fan wraps his arm around her.
Perry manages to walk out of the fan’s reach. The unidentified man then jumps up and down repeatedly before doing the Fortnite dance.
Finally, two security guards appear onstage and try to apprehend the fan. The man, however, is not having any of it. Refusing to go down without a fight, the fan tries to get out of the grasp of the security guards. This makes it very hard for them to remove him.
Meanwhile, Perry stopped her concert to address her other fans about the situation.
“Well, there’s never going to be another show like this,” she said. “So just enjoy it, Sydney.”
Perry then continued singing “Hot N Cold” as the security guards finally managed to remove the male fan from the stage. They were soon met by two more security officials who helped to take the man away.

Perry Stops Concert To Confront Fan
This comes one month after Perry stopped a concert in Las Vegas to accuse a fan of DMing her husband, the Lord of the Rings actor Orlando Bloom.
“Cute grin. I know why you’re here,” Perry said in a video that went viral on social media. “Listen, if you keep DM’ing my man… Oh, Kyle? I know, I know. You’ve been doing it for months, ever since the [Play] residency.”
“If you keep on DM-ing my man, I’m gonna have you removed,” she continued. “Seriously, get your own life. I’m his wife. I don’t want it. I’m his.”
The audience member reacted by laughing and cheering, but Perry didn’t stop her rant. She even addressed the fan by name, which was apparently Kyle.
“He don’t want you, Kyle. I’m his wife. I’m his, he’s mine … stay the [expletive] away,” she reiterated in the clip, which immediately went viral.
Much to everyone’s surprise, however, this was actually a scripted moment. Those attending the concert had no idea that Perry’s rant was actually a segue for the next song that she performed, which was her 2024 single I’m His, He’s Mine. It’s unclear if the fan Perry scolded was even in on the joke or not.

Perry’s Blue Origin Backlash
This comes at a difficult time for Perry, as backlash has been pouring in over her Blue Origin space flight for two months.
Perry travelled to space on the Blue Origin flight on April 14. She was joined by CBS Mornings host Gayle King, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen and Bezos’ fiancée, Lauren Sánchez.
All of the women have been hit with backlash over the flight. However, Perry has taken the most heat by far. According to Daily Mail, Perry’s career has been “ruined” by this controversy.

Perry Fires Back
Two months ago, Perry herself took to social media to address the hate that she’s been receiving.
“When the ‘online’ world tries to make me a human Piñata, I take it with grace and send them love, cause I know so many people are hurting in so many ways and the internet is very much so a dumping ground for unhinged and unhealed,” she stated. “What’s real is seeing your faces every night, singing in unison, reading your notes, feeling your warmth. I find people to lock eyes and sing with and I know we are healing each other in a small way when I get to do that.”
“I’m not perfect, and I actually have omitted that word from my vocabulary, I’m on a human journey playing the game of life with an audience of many and sometimes I fall but… I get back up and go on and continue to play the game and somehow through my battered and bruised adventure I keep looking to the light and in that light a new level UNLOCKS,” Perry concluded.
Despite what happened last night, Perry is still set to take the stage again in Sydney tonight. Her Lifetimes Tour is set to run through December. Here’s hoping that Perry’s luck turns around, and that she doesn’t end up being ambushed by a fan onstage ever again!
