It’s been one month since the pop star Katy Perry went to space. She did so for eleven minutes as part of Jeff Bezos’ all-female Blue Origin crew. Unfortunately for Perry, this has since blown up in her face. Indeed, the mission has been met with tons of backlash.
Now, Perry is back in the headlines after she stopped one of her concerts to scold a fan for messaging her husband Orlando Bloom, best known for starring in the Lord Of The Rings movie series, on social media.
Perry Stops Concert To Scold Fan
While performing in Nevada on Saturday night as part of her Lifetimes tour, Perry, 40, shocked her fans by stopping the concert to scold one audience member for allegedly messaging Bloom, 48, online. The music abruptly stopped playing as Perry crouched down and looked the fan in question directly in the eyes.
“I know why you’re here,” she told the fan intensely. “Listen, if you keep DM-ing my man … you’ve been doing it for months, ever since the residency. You didn’t come to see me play.”
“If you keep on DM-ing my man, I’m gonna have you removed,” she continued. “Seriously, get your own life. I’m his wife. I don’t want it. I’m his.”
The audience member reacted by laughing and cheering, but Perry didn’t stop her rant. She even addressed the fan by name, which was apparently Kyle.
“He don’t want you, Kyle. I’m his wife. I’m his, he’s mine … stay the [expletive] away,” she reiterated in the clip, which immediately went viral.
Much to everyone’s surprise, however, this was actually a scripted moment. Those attending the concert had no idea that Perry’s rant was actually a segue for the next song that she performed, which was her 2024 single I’m His, He’s Mine. It’s unclear if the fan Perry scolded was even in on the joke or not.

Perry’s Blue Origin Backlash
This comes at a difficult time for Perry, as backlash has been pouring in over her Blue Origin space flight for over a month. Perry travelled to space on the Blue Origin flight on April 14. She was joined by CBS Mornings host Gayle King, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen and Bezos’ fiancée, Lauren Sánchez.
All of the women have been hit with backlash over the flight. However, Perry has taken the most heat by far. According to Daily Mail, Perry’s career has been “ruined” by this controversy.

Perry Responds
Last month, Perry herself took to social media to address the hate that she’s been receiving.
“When the ‘online’ world tries to make me a human Piñata, I take it with grace and send them love, cause I know so many people are hurting in so many ways and the internet is very much so a dumping ground for unhinged and unhealed,” she stated. “What’s real is seeing your faces every night, singing in unison, reading your notes, feeling your warmth. I find people to lock eyes and sing with and I know we are healing each other in a small way when I get to do that.”
“I’m not perfect, and I actually have omitted that word from my vocabulary, I’m on a human journey playing the game of life with an audience of many and sometimes I fall but… I get back up and go on and continue to play the game and somehow through my battered and bruised adventure I keep looking to the light and in that light a new level UNLOCKS,” Perry concluded.
