It’s been one month since the pop star Katy Perry went to space. She did so for eleven minutes as part of Jeff Bezos’ all-female Blue Origin crew. Unfortunately for Perry, this has since blown up in her face. Indeed, the mission has been met with tons of backlash.
Now, Perry is admitting that she is the “most hated person on the internet.”
‘The Most Hated Person On The Internet’
On Monday night, Perry performed in Chicago as part of her Lifetimes tour. There, she reacted to the backlash that she’s received over the past few weeks.
When the crowd cheered for her for an extended period of time, Perry responded by saying, “Well, I thought I was the most hated person on the internet.”
“I think that’s false,” Perry added as the cheers continued.

Perry’s Blue Origin Space Flight
Perry travelled to space on the Blue Origin flight on April 14. She was joined by CBS Mornings host Gayle King, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen and Bezos’ fiancée, Lauren Sánchez.
All of the women have been hit with backlash over the flight. However, Perry has taken the most heat by far. According to Daily Mail, Perry’s career has been “ruined” by this controversy.
Last month, Perry herself took to social media to address the hate that she’s been receiving.
“When the ‘online’ world tries to make me a human Piñata, I take it with grace and send them love, cause I know so many people are hurting in so many ways and the internet is very much so a dumping ground for unhinged and unhealed,” she stated. “What’s real is seeing your faces every night, singing in unison, reading your notes, feeling your warmth. I find people to lock eyes and sing with and I know we are healing each other in a small way when I get to do that.”
“I’m not perfect, and I actually have omitted that word from my vocabulary, I’m on a human journey playing the game of life with an audience of many and sometimes I fall but… I get back up and go on and continue to play the game and somehow through my battered and bruised adventure I keep looking to the light and in that light a new level UNLOCKS,” Perry concluded.

Perry’s Alleged Regrets
Insiders close to Perry have since spoken out to say that the “Firework” singer has some regrets about this entire controversy.
“Katy doesn’t regret going to space. It was life changing. What she does regret is making a public spectacle out of it,” a source close to Perry told Daily Mail.
The insider went on to say that Perry “never expected the backlash.” In the end, she’s been left “disheartened” by the “uncalled for and upsetting” response to her Blue Origin mission.
Perry’s international Lifetimes tour is set to run through December. She will next be performing in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night. Only time will tell if Perry’s career will truly bounce back from this!
