It’s been six months since Jennifer Lopez finalized her divorce from Ben Affleck after just two years of marriage. Last month, we reported that Affleck is willing to pay millions to permanently cut Lopez out of his life.
Now, insiders are saying that Affleck’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares three children, is speaking out against Lopez. Indeed, Garner allegedly feels that Lopez “stirred up chaos” in Affleck’s life.
Garner Isn’t A Fan Of Lopez
Garner, 53, reportedly made a point of getting along with Lopez, 55, during the singer’s brief marriage to Affleck, 52. Now that Affleck and Lopez are divorced, however, Garner is allegedly no longer on speaking terms with the former Selena star.
“She’s Team Ben, 100%,” a friend of Garner’s told ShuterScoop. “She was there before, during, and after Bennifer — and now she’s back in his corner in a big way.”
The insider went on to say that while Garner maintained a positive demeanor, the dynamic between her, Affleck, and Lopez was strained during the short marriage.
“[Garner] never trusted it,” the source admitted. “She smiled for the kids, but behind closed doors, there was tension. She felt like J.Lo stirred up chaos — and Ben doesn’t need chaos.”
Now that the divorce is official, Garner is trying to be a steadying force for Affleck and for their three children.
“She’s not angling for a romantic reunion,” the insider concluded. “But she’s always had his back — and Lopez felt that shift. That’s why they’re done.”

Affleck’s History With Lopez And Garner
The trio of Lopez, Affleck, and Garner has quite the history, to say the least.
Lopez and Affleck met in December of 2001 on the set of their infamous movie Gigli. They became engaged the next year, only to shock fans by calling off their planned wedding in 2003 just days before it was set to take place.
Lopez and Affleck each went on to marry and divorce different people. Affleck married Garner, an actress best known for starring in the hit TV show Alias, in 2005. They had three children together before they divorced in 2018.
Meanwhile, Lopez married the singer Marc Anthony, staying with him from 2004 until they divorced in 2014. He’s the father of her twins.
Lopez and Affleck reunited and quickly rekindled their romance in April of 2021. They went on to marry in July of 2022. Sadly, it didn’t take long for their marriage to go off the rails. Lopez filed for divorce in April of 2024, citing their date of separation as April 26 of that year. Their divorce was finalized in January of 2025.
Affleck And Garner Reunite
In the months since this divorce, Affleck appears to be getting closer to Garner again. Last weekend, Affleck and Garner were spotted at a Boston Red Sox game together with two of their children.
While Affleck appears to be single at the moment, Garner has been dating the businessman John Miller since 2018. This means that despite her loyalty to Affleck, fans likely shouldn’t expect Garner to be getting back with him anytime soon.
This has clearly been a very complicated decades-long romantic situation for everyone involved. Now that Affleck and Lopez are officially divorced, we can only hope that the two of them and Garner are able to put this all behind them and move on with their lives!
