It’s been five months since Jennifer Lopez finalized her divorce from Ben Affleck after just two years of marriage. Now, things have gotten even worse for Lopez, as Affleck is saying that he’ll pay millions of dollars to permanently cut her out of his life in a very public way.
Affleck Desperate To Cut Ties With Lopez
Though Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, have been divorced for months, they still own a mega-mansion that they bought together in Beverly Hills, California. In July of last year, they put this mansion on the market for a staggering $68 million. Though they have since slashed that number by $8 million, they have still been unable to find a buyer.
Now, an insider is saying that Affleck is willing to bring the price down by millions more. Indeed, he’s open to doing this just so that he can cut Lopez out of his life once and for all.
“Ben and JLo slashed the price on their Beverly Hills mansion for $8 million less than they paid for it, but this is nothing to Ben,” the source told Daily Mail. “He really just wants this to be sold so that he can cut the final cord that keeps him and Jennifer intertwined.”
Lopez and Affleck bought the 38,000 square-foot mega-mansion in May of 2023 for $60.8 million in cash. The home includes 12-bedrooms and 24-bathrooms. It also has a 5,000-square-foot guest penthouse, a two-bedroom guardhouse, a caretaker’s house, and a 12-car garage.
As for amenities, the estate boasts a home bar, gym, sports lounge, boxing ring, basketball and pickleball courts, and parking for up to 80 vehicles.
Mega-Mansion ‘Caused Drama’ For Lopez And Affleck
The mansion initially seemed like a dream home for Lopez and Affleck. However, according to the insider, it “caused drama” in their marriage because Affleck “never wanted to shell out that much for this home to begin with.”
“[Ben] knows [Jennifer] will always have a presence in his life with their kids remaining best friends, but this house is the one last thing that is a symbol of their marriage,” the source explained.
“Ultimately, he just hopes that they find a buyer soon and does not care that he takes a multi-million cut,” the insider continued. “His marriage and divorce cost him millions and what is another couple million? It is a small price to pay for Ben.”

Affleck And Lopez Move Out
Affleck and Lopez each moved out of the mega-mansion after they split last summer. The Argo director first moved into a bachelor pad in Brentwood that he rented for $100,000 a month. Affleck later bought a $20 million home in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Lopez bought a $21 million mansion in the Los Angeles suburb of Hidden Hills back in February. This 10,046-square-foot mansion is located on 2.5 acres. The property includes a barn, stables, a riding arena, a guest house, and a pool. Inside the mansion, amenities include a private theater, a chef’s kitchen, and a fully equipped gym.
Another source spoke out to say that as their Beverly Hills mansion remains on the market, Affleck is ready to “move on, get the sale over with and worry about things that are important.”
“Ben has to grow and move on. He just wants to live his life that, for the most part, has been very fortunate,” this source stated. “Ben has had a lot of wins, and with that comes a few losses.”
“He can compartmentalize what is important in life,” the insider concluded. “He’s learned over the years what is important.”

Affleck And Lopez’s History
Affleck and Lopez met in December of 2001 on the set of their movie Gigli. They became engaged the next year, only to shock fans by calling off their planned wedding in 2003 just days before it was set to take place.
Affleck and Lopez each went on to marry and divorce different people. Affleck married the former Alias star Jennifer Garner in 2005 and had three children with her before they divorced in 2018. Prior to Lopez, Affleck’s union with Garner was his only marriage.
Meanwhile, Lopez married the singer Marc Anthony, staying with him from 2004 until they divorced in 2014. He’s the father of her twins.
Affleck was actually Lopez’s fourth husband. Her first marriage was to the actor Ojani Noa, who she was married to from 1997 until 1998. She then married her backup dancer Cris Judd in 2002, and they divorced the next year.
Affleck and Lopez reunited in 2021, and they married in July of 2022. Lopez filed for divorce exactly two years later, and their divorce was finalized in January of this year.
This has clearly been a very difficult year for Lopez and Affleck. Here’s hoping that they can sell their mega-mansion as soon as possible so that they can both move on with their lives!
