Earlier this month, we reported that the former Friends star Jennifer Aniston had been targeted by an alleged stalker who was arrested at her Los Angeles mansion after crashing his car into her gates.
Now, Aniston’s stalker nightmare has continued. Indeed, her alleged stalker has just shocked everyone with a dramatic new look in his most recent court appearance. This comes as a judge is deciding if he’s competent enough to stand trial.
Aniston’s Stalker Appears In Court
Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, 48, made his latest court appearance on Thursday. He walked into court wearing glasses and yellow prison garb as he appeared for a mental health hearing.
While Carwyle still looked disheveled, Daily Mail has confirmed that he looked far more put together than he did in his initial court appearance. His wild, unkempt hair was gone, as was his large messy beard. Instead, he simply had an awkward smirk on his face as he stood behind a glass enclosure throughout the proceedings.

Carwyle’s Mental Health Evaluations
During last week’s hearing, the court was told that Dr. Phani Tumu had evaluated Carwyle. He deemed him unfit to participate in court proceedings.
Carwyle, however, sought a second opinion. He was then evaluated by forensic psychiatrist Dr. Kory Knapke. In Thursday’s hearing, it was revealed that Knapke had also concluded that Carwyle is mentally unfit to stand trial.
“He is not competent to stand trial so although I know it’s not the outcome my client would have preferred at this time I would submit on those two reports,” said public defender Robert Krauss.
Deputy District Attorney William Donovan responded by saying, “The people will also submit.”
“The court finds that the defendant is not presently competent to stand trial,” ruled Judge Maria Cavalluzzi. “Criminal proceedings are suspended.”
Judge Cavalluzzi then scheduled an “interest of justice” hearing for June 26. In that hearing, Aniston or her attorney Blair Berk will have the opportunity to give an impact statement. Meanwhile, Dr. Tumu will compile a detailed report on Carwyle to help figure out how how to treat him moving forward.

Carwyle’s Arrest
Carwyle was arrested on May 5 after crashing his car into the gates of Aniston’s $21 million sprawling hilltop Bel-Air mansion. Aniston, 56, was home at the time. Luckily, her security team was able to apprehend Carwyle before he could get to her. They held him at gunpoint until police arrived to arrest him.
According to prosecutors, Carwyle “repeatedly” harassed Aniston between March 1, 2023 and May 5, 2025. During that time, he hounded her with “unwanted social media, voicemail, and email messages.”
In these messages, Carwyle allegedly described Aniston as his “bride” and his “true soulmate.”
Carwyle’s wife Julia told Daily Mail that her husband believes that he’s Jesus Christ and that Aniston is his queen. She revealed that he’d made three trips from their home in Mississippi to California in the hopes of meeting Aniston.
Julia last saw her husband in September of 2024. At the time, he left on his latest attempt to make contact with Aniston.
“He went to California six months ago,” said Julia, 48. “He left in September and went and I haven’t seen him since he left, he was leaving that day to go.”
Julia went on to say that her husband “was going there because he was going to meet up with Jennifer. He was going to go see her.”
When asked why Carwyle is so fixated on Aniston, his wife reiterated that “he believes he was Jesus Christ and that she was supposed to be his queen.”

Aniston’s Obama Dating Rumors
This comes after a difficult few months for Aniston. Indeed, it’s been rumored that she’s dating the former President Barack Obama, 63. This comes amidst rumors that Obama is divorcing his wife Michelle, 61, and that the former first couple have been living “separate lives” for quite some time.

Rumors that Aniston is dating Obama have escalated to the point that the actress has been forced to deny them in interviews. In an October interview with the late night host Jimmy Kimmel, Aniston was asked directly about the Obama dating claims.
“I was not mad at it, but that is absolutely untrue,” Aniston said of the rumors.
“I’ve met him [Barack] once. I know Michelle more than him,” she then claimed, alleging that she only met the former president at a 2007 Hollywood gala before he took office.

Aniston has lived in her Bel-Air mansion since 2011, when she bought it for $22 million. However, she’s been left so shaken by this stalking incident that she is planning to relocate to a large home that she owns in Montecito.
Aniston has yet to publicly comment on the stalking incident. Aniston also hasn’t publicly commented on the Obama dating rumors since the above interview.
