The legendary former Friends star Jennifer Aniston suffered a terrifying ordeal this week as a man was arrested outside her Los Angeles mansion after crashing into her gates. Police are reportedly investigating the man for stalking.

Suspect Arrested At Aniston’s Home

The LAPD confirmed to Daily Mail that suspect Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, 48, was arrested at Aniston’s Bel-Air home on Monday. He has since been charged with felony vandalism. Carwyle could be hit with additional charges as the police’s investigation continues.

A police spokesperson told TMZ that officials are “reviewing social media posts” that are under Carwyle’s name. In one of them, he chillingly referred to Aniston, 56, as his “bride” and his “true soulmate.”

“Set you straight about Me & Jen,” read one post from December of 2024 that was obtained by E! News. “ReMinding you The Perfect Husband had to have A Perfect Wife Named Jennifer Joanna Aniston.”

A social media post from March of this year reads, “They Amaze me, packing so much love, in such a small package, Known as Jennifer Joanna Aniston Carwyle.”

Carwyle is currently being held without bail at the L.A. County jail. Aniston is known to have been home at the time of this horrifying ordeal.

A Truly Terrifying Incident

The incident reportedly occurred at around 12:20pm on Monday, when Carwyle crashed his car into the gates of Aniston’s home. The actress’s private security team immediately ran out to the vehicle and removed Carwyle from it. They then held him at gunpoint until police arrived on the scene.

An LAPD spokesperson confirmed that police were called to Aniston’s home about a “burglary suspect” who “ran his vehicle through the gate to the residence.” This spokesperson said that the suspect “rammed his vehicle through the gate to the residence and gained access to the property.”

“There was a security guard on premises who was able to detain that suspect until officers arrived, at which time they took him into custody without incident,” the spokesperson continued. He added that the suspect will be booked for felony damage due to the damage that he inflicted.

Aniston never came into contact with Carwyle. Thankfully, nobody was hurt in this incident. However, we can only imagine just how shaken up Aniston is by all of this. Indeed, it serves as a chilling reminder of just how vulnerable she is as one of the most famous women in the world.

Aniston’s Bel-Air Home

Aniston has lived in this 8,500 square-foot Bel-Air mansion ever since 2011, when she bought it for $21 million. The home boasts four bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms with a wine cellar, pool, and guesthouse. It also has city and ocean views, and it sits on almost two acres of land.

This home served as the venue for Aniston’s 2015 wedding to the actor Justin Theroux, who she sadly went on to divorce in 2018. Prior to that, Aniston was married to Brad Pitt from 2000 until they divorced in 2005.

While Aniston is believed to be single, she’s spent the past few months dealing with rumors that she’s dating the former President Barack Obama. Though Aniston has vehemently denied these rumors, they’ve continued to persist.

Aniston’s Previous Stalking Incident

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that Aniston has seemingly been targeted by a man claiming to be in love with her.

In 2010, Aniston was granted a restraining order against Jason Peyton, who had traveled from Pennsylvania to California in the hopes of finding and marrying her. When police searched Peyton’s vehicle, they found the words “I Love You Jennifer Aniston” scratched into the paint of it. They also found a sharp object along with a list of baby names.

“Jennifer communicated to me mentally that she wants me to come and marry her, and wants me to be the father of her children,” Peyton told police at the time. “We love each other.”
