Last week, we reported that the Oscar-nominated Hollywood star James Woods had lost his home to the Palisades fire in Los Angeles. Now, Woods has revealed that he’s benefited from a “miracle,” as he’s learned that his home is actually still standing.

Most of his neighbors have not been so lucky, and Woods has been chronicling the damage to show his fans just how extensive the fires in LA have been.

‘A Miracle Has Happened’

“A miracle has happened,” Woods, 77, wrote on social media. “We managed to get to our property and our home, that we were told is gone forever, is still standing. In this hellish landscape, ‘standing’ is relative, but smoke and other damage is not like the utter destruction around us.”

Woods wrote this alongside a video in which he stood on top of the hill overlooking what he said was Palisades High School, showing “everything below us.”

Woods later took to X to thank fans for their support.

“To all the wonderful people who’ve reached out to us, thank you for being so concerned,” he wrote. “Just letting you know that we were able to evacuate successfully. I do not know at this moment if our home is still standing, but sadly houses on our little street are not.”

Woods Breaks Down

Woods had previously broken down on CNN after he thought his house had been destroyed. He revealed that he’d only just moved back into his “beautiful little house” last month after completing massive renovations.

“We finally had it done, and we were swimming every day, and my blood pressure was going down,” Woods recalled. “If you ever saw the views from that house before this fire, they were just… It was paradise. And our neighbors, we knew them all.”

“One day you’re swimming in the pool and the next day it’s all gone,” he continued, adding that he and his wife fled with only “the clothes on our backs.”

Other Celebrities Lose Their Homes

While Woods learned that his home was saved, other celebrities were not so lucky. The Hollywood star Billy Crystal has tragically confirmed that his home burned to the ground due to these wildfires.

“Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing,” Crystal, 76, told Entertainment Weekly. “We ache for our friends and neighbors who have also lost their homes and businesses in this tragedy.”

Paris Hilton, 43, also lost her home to the wildfires.

“Heartbroken beyond words,” she wrote on Instagram. “Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience. This home was where we built so many precious memories.”

“This house wasn’t just a place to live— It was where we dreamed, laughed, and created the most beautiful memories as a family,” she later added. “It was where Phoenix’s little hands made art that I’ll cherish forever, where love and life filled every corner. To see it reduced to ashes… it’s devastating beyond words.”

We’re overjoyed that Woods’ home is still standing. However, our thoughts are also sadly with those who were not as lucky as he is. Please join us in saying a prayer for all those impacted by these horrifying wildfires!
