It’s been nearly two months since the legendary Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson passed away at the age of 79 following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Afterwards, it was widely reported that the health of Phil’s beloved wife Miss Kay, who he was married to for nearly 60 years, was declining rapidly as she struggled to come to terms with her husband’s passing.

These reports soon escalated to the point where rumors were swirling that Miss Kay had also passed away. Now, Miss Kay herself is speaking out to put these rumors to rest once and for all.

‘I’m Tired Of Being Dead’

“I’m tired of being dead,” Kay, 77, joked while appearing on a recent episode of the “Duck Call Room” podcast

“Yeah, I’m not the only one that died,” Kay added in reference to an AI photo of herself circulating online. “That woman did, too.”

Kay was joined on this podcast by her son Al. He is one of the four sons that she shares with Phil.

“Tales of your demise have been greatly exaggerated, ‘cause you’re here today. So this is the proof-of-life video,” Al said.

Getting serious, Al went on to talk about how hard it has been for their family to adjust to life without Phil. This has understandably been especially difficult for Kay, who had been married to Phil since 1966.

“Obviously this was an hard deal for all of us, but it was especially hard for Mom,” Al Robertson admitted.

“She said, ‘I’m tired of people saying how good I look. My husband just died. It’s not like I’m back on the market,'” he continued. “I was like, Mom, they’re not saying … ‘Do you wanna date?’ they’re saying, ‘You look amazing.’”

“Well, I thought I should look sad,” Kay replied.

Kay Bounces Back After Health Struggles

It was nice for fans to see Kay seemingly doing so much better. Immediately after Phil’s death on May 25, Kay’s son Willie Robertson spoke out to say that his mother was struggling.

“Kay is not in the best of health,” Willie told USA Today at the time. “We’re trying to help her out as much as we can.”

“Some of it is she is just depressed,” he added. “She lost her partner of 60 years.”

Thankfully, Willie revealed earlier this week that Kay has since bounced back in a big way.

“She is doing so much better,” Willie told Fox News of Kay. “It’s unbelievable how she made the turn. I think she was just really kind of depressed after Phil passed away. You know, you’ve been with somebody for 60 years, over 60 years, so just losing her soulmate and she is getting older.”

“Yeah, she was struggling with that a bit, but man, she’s bounced back, and she just went to church,” he continued. “I think she’s going out of town this weekend. She’s traveling more. She’s on our show.”

This was a reference to the Robertson family’s new reality TV show Duck Dynasty: The Revival. Kay made a small appearance in the premiere episode last month, but she won’t be appearing in the rest of the season due to poor health. Kay is now doing so much better that she’s currently filming season two of the show with her family.

“She’s been with us for a few things that we’ve been filming this week,” Willie’s wife Korie explained. “So that’s been really special. And, you know, that’s a special part about our show. We feel like it’s just getting to do it with our family and getting to spend that time together.”

Miss Kay Leans On Family And Faith

In the end, Kay has been leaning on both her family and her faith to get her through this difficult period of great mourning.

“We were just happy knowing that he’s gone on to be with the Lord, and he was so secure in that.” Willie said. “That’s pretty much all he talked about his whole life was whenever it ended, the faith and hope that he had.”

“Also with Alzheimer’s — the bad part is you have to watch them go down, but I think it does prepare you and I think she may have been even in denial, you know, like that it was actually gonna happen,” he continued. “She just had to deal with it, and she really stuck close to the family. We were all there and all around her, and she was with different family members and just took care of her friends and the relationships she had.”

“We’re thankful that she’s seeing brighter days now and seeing where she’s at in life, and life without Phil, and Phil was bigger than life,” Willie concluded. “He leaves a big void, for sure, and I know them two were so together in pretty much everything that they did, so I know it was hard for her.”
