Earlier this week, we reported that the legendary former Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson had passed away at the age of 79 following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Now, a sad update has come in about the health of Phil’s beloved wife Miss Kay, who he was married to for 59 years.
Kay’s Declining Health
Days before Phil’s death, his daughter-in-law Korie gave fans an update on Kay’s health. Unlike Phil, Kay was healthy enough to appear in some episodes of the Robertson family’s new reality show Duck Dynasty: The Revival, which is set to premiere on Sunday night. Unfortunately, Kay’s health quickly began to decline enough that she had to stop making these appearances.
“She’s actually in quite a few of the early episodes of this season,” Korie told The New York Post of Kay, 77.
“As the season went on, she had some health issues, too. And she’s not been able to be on anymore,” Korie continued. ‘So we’re just thankful that Kay got to be on some of the earlier episodes, and we’re going to really cherish those.”
After Phil’s death, another update about Kay came in. Jay Stone is married to Anna, the daughter of Phil and Kay’s son Alan. While appearing on The Duck Call Room for a memorial episode for Phil, Jay revealed that Kay has been staying with him and his wife. From how he spoke about it, this sounds like a permanent situation.
“She’s doing good,” Jay said of Kay. “She’s surrounded by her family. There’s people in and out constantly. So she’s doing well and she’s eating well.”

Phil And Kay Reunited In His Final Months
Back in April, Jase and Al Robertson revealed that their parents had been reunited at a care facility.
“We now have Phil and Kay back together. It has been fantastic,” Jase said on the “Unashamed with the Robertson Family” podcast.
“My dad’s not doing great overall, and my mom is not doing great physically,” Jase admitted. “She has to have pretty much 24/7 professional healthcare, but my dad, it’s like, ‘You’re helping her morale.’ She’s helping his morale.”
“He’s been so much calmer since she came back,” Al chimed in to add.
Jase went on to say that family and friends had been visiting the couple. Kay’s visitors were branded “Kay’s Kingdom,” while Phil had his own “kingdom” of visitors.
“They’re in a facility where there are other people, but they have their own little private room,” Jase concluded. “It’s great. And so, they’re helping each other, so that’s been positive.”
Kay’s Touching Tribute To Phil
Though she hasn’t posted on it in quite some time, Kay still has her own Instagram page. Last year, she used it to post a touching tribute to Phil.
“Phil takes care of me, and I take care of him,” Kay wrote in March of 2024. “Sometimes he fixes a little makeup smudge for me, and I comb the chicken biscuit crumbs out of his beard. I’m getting over being sick, and I can’t wait to get back to taking care of my pioneer man.”
“I love Phil, and I really want y’all to know that the hard years were worth it to get to where we are today,” she added.
Phil and Kay had been married since 1966, and they had a truly beautiful life together. We can only imagine just how devastated Kay is right now in the wake of Phil’s death. Please join us in saying a prayer for Miss Kay!
