Bruce Springsteen To Perform In Asbury Park For First Time In 14 Years – Reliving ‘Glory Days’

The singer Bruce Springsteen has announced that he and the E Street Band will be performing in Asbury Park for the first time in fourteen years.

Springsteen Returns To Asbury Park

The New York Post reported that Springsteen, 74, and the E Street Band will be headlining the Sea.Hear.Now Festival at North Beach on Sunday, September 15.

Springsteen has not performed in Asbury Park since December of 2010, when he did a show at the Carousel House for an invite-only crowd. Aside from some surprise sets at the Stone Pony, it’s been over twenty years since Springsteen has played a ticketed show in town.

Others who will perform on the same day of the festival as Springsteen include Gaslight Anthem, the Trey Anastasio Band, Norah Jones, Kool & the Gang, Action Bronson, Gogol Bordello, Larkin Poe, Joy Oladokun, the Aces, Eggy, Illiterate Light, Bertha, Sunshine Spazz and Rachel Ana Dobken.

Earlier in the weekend, the festival will feature Noah Kahan, the Black Crowes, 311, the Revivalists, the Hives, Grace Potter, Sierra Ferrell, Peaches, Guster, Ziggy Alberts, the Robert Randolph Band, Joe P, Passafire and Sonic Blume.

Tickets for the Sea.Hear.Now Festival are set to go on sale tomorrow at 10am EST.

Springsteen’s Greatest Hits Album

This comes after it was revealed that a Springsteen greatest hits album called “Best of Bruce Springsteen” will be released by Sony Music on April 19. The album is set to span Springsteen’s entire career from 1973’s “Growin’ Up” to 2020’s “Letter to You,” according to The Asbury Park Press.

“‘Best Of Bruce Springsteen’ captures a body of work that has earned Springsteen honors and accolades including 20 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, two Golden Globes, a special Tony Award, the Presidential Medal Of Freedom, a Kennedy Center Honor and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame,” states the album’s press release.

“It has also made Springsteen one of the world’s most in-demand artists — topping 140 million records sold across the globe, more than 70 million in the United States alone, and becoming the first artist in history with a Top Five album in six consecutive decades,” it continues.

Springsteen Searching For Meaning In His Life

In an interview last year, Springsteen opened up about trying to find meaning in his life.

“I think in your 20s, a lot of things work for you,” Springsteen told CBS News. “Your 30s is where you start to become an adult. Suddenly I looked around and said, ‘Where is everything? Where is my home? Where is my partner? Where are the sons or daughters that I thought I might have someday?'”

“I realized none of these things are there,” he added. “So I said, ‘OK, the first thing I’ve gotta do as soon as I get home is remind myself of who I am and where I came from.'”

Springsteen is a true living legend, and there’s nobody else quite like him in the music world today. His show in Asbury Park at the end of the summer is sure to be legendary, so be sure to check it out if you can!

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
