Reba McEntire Offers Powerful Advice For Success – ‘Life’s Too Short…’

The country music star Reba McEntire is speaking out this week to offer some powerful advice for how to be successful in life.

McEntire’s Advice For Success

One week after she hosted the ACM Awards, McEntire gave her thoughts on Lainey Wilson, who won entertainer of the year at the ceremony.

“Oh, Lainey Wilson is so sweet. I’m so happy and proud for her. I saw her perform the night of the ACMs in Frisco, Texas. She did a marvelous job. She’s a star,” McEntire, 69, told Fox News. “She carries herself with such confidence, but still has fun with it.”

“And that’s what you’re supposed to do, you’re supposed to have fun, because life’s too short to be dragged down and just be miserable,” she continued. “Lift everybody up with a smile and have fun, be nice, and Lainey is.”

McEntire’s Singer Wins The Voice

This comes at an exciting time for McEntire. Earlier this week, her singer Asher Havon won season 25 of The Voice. McEntire described him as a “good student” who followed the advice that she gave him throughout the entire competition.

“I’m proud of him. I think the best advice I gave you was to be yourself and trust your gift, which is the gut, because that’s the way God talks to us, and he did,” she said. “He did everything I told him to do while I was coaching him. You were a good student, and it paid off.”

HaVon appreciated McEntire’s help, saying that she “never made me feel any type of way, no matter how I walked in that room, and the more I felt safe, the more I was willing to peel back the layers.”

McEntire’s History

Born in McAlester, Oklahoma in 1955 to a family of champion steer ropers, McEntire got her big break singing the national anthem at the 1974 rodeo finals. She’s recorded over 30 studio albums and been named Best Female Vocalist by the Country Music Association four times. McEntire has topped the country music charts two dozen times and won three Grammy Awards.

On top of all that, McEntire is an actress who starred on her own sitcom Reba from 2001 until 2007. She’s getting ready to return to acting, as her new sitcom Happy’s Place has been picked up by NBC.

“We’ve got a great ensemble with same producers, showrunner and writers as we had with the Reba show, and it’s a great script,” McEntire told People Magazine.

McEntire Wants To ‘Just Have Fun’

McEntire also told ABC News that while she is up for acting in any genre of film and television, sitcoms are her favorite because one can “just have fun” with them.

“It’s really hard memorizing all the dialogue you have to do, but … it ain’t my first rodeo. I do love it,” she said. “It’s just playtime. We have a blast with it.”

McEntire is a true legend, so if anyone would have good advice on how to be successful in life, it’s her. God bless Reba McEntire, and may she have many years of success to come!

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
