Texas Man Sues Walmart Seeking $100 Million Or Unlimited Free Shopping For Life

A man in Texas says a Walmart violated his civil rights.

And he wants either a $100 million or free shopping for life for it.

That’s pretty ambitious. What happened to this man, exactly?

Jackson’s Claims Against Walmart

Huffington Post reports, “On Monday, Waskom, Texas, resident Roderick Jackson sent two handwritten complaints to the United States District Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Arkansas in Fayetteville, NBC News reports. Both complaints were filed without an attorney.”

“Jackson filed the suit claiming an incident involving the ‘false pretense of shoplifting’ in March 2021 at a Walmart store in Omaha, Nebraska,” the story noted.

So they apparently thought he was shoplifting.

The story continued:

In a separate complaint, he alleged that he suffered “civil rights violations based on race/color” at the Nebraska Walmart. Neither complaint offers much detail about his claims.

Jackson also requests that Walmart pay all his court fees regarding the lawsuit.

Representatives for Walmart didn’t immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.

On Thursday, a spokesperson for the company told NBC News that the retail giant does “not tolerate discrimination of any kind.”

This Isn’t the First Time He’s Sued Walmart

The spokesperson added, “We are aware of Mr. Jackson’s complaint and intend to defend the company against the allegations once we have been served.”

This isn’t the first time Jackson has attempted to sue Walmart.

According to court records, he tried to sue the discount retail behemoth in 2021 over the same incident in which he claimed to be the victim of racial profiling due to an alleged crime on his part that resulted in his arrest.

Court documents show that case was tossed out because it wasn’t served properly.

It is unlikely this lawsuit gets too far, but it won’t be due to a lack of trying by Mr. Jackson.
