Some interesting developments when it comes to Brian Cage and his AEW status, and WNZ has all the details. Plus, while WrestleMania 39 is weeks away, Triple H is already planning the card for WM 40.

Brian Cage – AEW Status

According to Fightful Select, Cage’s AEW deal was set to end quite soon. However, the promotion was hoping to extend his stay in the company due to time off during his injury.

This would have him with AEW until the end of June. With that said, Cage pushed back on this.

As per the report, Brian will stay with the company until the end of March. He’s agreed to stay on and work the ROH Supercard of Honor pay-per-view (PPV).

What’s the reason Cage is so anxious to end his deal with AEW? It seems that the WWE is interested in Brian once he becomes a free agent.

More On Brian Cage & His AEW Status

Cage’s original AEW contract was set to expire in late January to the middle of February. The reason for the added time was that Brian left IMPACT Wrestling injured when he joined AEW.

It looks like the promotion offered Cage a contract extension, which would be comparable to his deal currently. As per the report, this still hasn’t been ruled out as an option.

Lastly, Cage has had some major players throw support his way as of late. In fact, Chris Jericho recently noted publicly that he hopes Brian re-signs with AEW.

Over to WWE news, WrestleMania 39 is on the horizon, and fans are excited about it. However, looks like long-term planning has already begun for the WM 40 card.

Triple H’s Plans For WrestleMania 40

Forty years of WrestleMania is a huge milestone, which makes it no surprise that the WWE is already gearing up the one of the biggest ‘Manias in recent history. According to a report, next year’s big event will hold a special place in HHH’s heart.

As such, WWE’s Head of Creative is looking to “stack” WrestleMania 40’s card, as much as he can. While chatting with GiveMeSport, the Twitter handle WrestleVotes notes that the WWE is going to “stack” and “pack” the heck out of the WM 40 card.

They note this is because of the 40th anniversary of the event, and it “means something” to HHH. What should fans get ready for?

The report discusses that WM 40 will open the door to two major superstar returns. One is “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson, and the other is “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

Interestingly enough, it was speculated that Rock would return for this WM and face his cousin Roman Reigns. Meanwhile, as per reports, Austin was given multiple pitches for WM 39 and rejected them all.

Will this year’s ‘Mania set up a few things for next year’s big event? Only time will tell.

Next year’s WM takes place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at Lincoln Field Stadium. Much like the other ‘Manias since 2020, it’ll be a two-day event happening on Saturday, April 6th, and Sunday, April 7, 2024.
