It’s time for another SmackDown In A Nutshell, and my big ask is…will the Bloodline finally boil over?
In fairness, they’ve kind of already started to boil over.
Things at the Royal Rumble started the family drama.
Elimination Chamber didn’t do the Bloodline any favors.
So, will the Bloodline finally boil over? Or will Jimmy and Jey get on the same page with Roman and Solo?
That all remains to be seen, of course.
We are just over a month away from WrestleMania, and there is a whole lot of card to fill out.
How much will the Bloodline factor into that? Probably a lot, if we are being honest.
They do possess a good chunk of WWE titles, after all.
So, it’s time to see how things play out on this week’s…
Let’s crack open this Nutshell and find out!
Match-wise, I am inclined to go with LA Knight and Kofi Kingston.
Like, this was mid-card in terms of positioning, but not in terms of performance.
Many on social media loved this match as well, but said the same as I am about to say.
That is, LA Knight should have won this. Assuming this leads to some WrestleMania match, Knight should go over.
Tough one here. I was not enamored with Natalya and Shayna, but it also was not terrible.
Once again, this one focused on Sami and the Bloodline.
We got Solo in on the action again, as we once again see Jey tormented and on the sidelines.
For me, there were a few nice moments, but I can’t say there was one single big spot.
I liked the exchange between the Viking Raiders, Strowman, Ricochet, Sheamus and Drew.
Sami’s big Helluva Kick on Jimmy stood out too.
I could go Natalya on this, if anyone. And that’s a stretch.
It can’t go on much longer before this one pops off, no?
And I remember Dom-face Dom-wanting to earn Rey’s mask.
How heated would Dom be if Santos Escobar earned Rey’s mask instead?
Maybe not a botch, but I do wonder how much Rhea and Charlotte *need* Dom in that feud.
Like, I get it, he’s following Ripley around like a puppy dog…but unless Charlotte had a man by her side, it just feels weird.
In the sense that…well, can Rhea not carry her side on her own? If she can’t…should she be in that spot?
I am not saying she can’t…she’s been there before…I just want the two women to shine on their own.
The exchange between Dom and Charlotte, with Charlotte bringing up Andrade.
Specifically, telling Dom he’s at home with a thicker…accent.
I am here for this:
Like, seriously digging Legado + Rey as a foil for Judgement Day. Could this get Electra Lopez back?
Even though I do expect Santos to eventually turn on Rey…
On top of that, how about that Firefly Funhouse segment?
Honestly have nothing worth complaining about.
Solid show. The six man tag sets up a few likely things for WrestleMania, if I had to guess.
Charlotte had some zingers.
LA Knight and Kofi delivered.
Kross and Rey too, but the Legado twist is what I am really intrigued by.
Wyatt with a great Funhouse.
Next week should be big too. Natty and Nox against Baszler and Rousey, and Liv versus Ripley too.
Oh, and Roman Reigns comes back. Nothing to discuss with him….
A satisfying, if not spectacular, SmackDown.
The Bloodline did not boil over this time…not yet. But there was more fun there, and Reigns is back in the building next Friday.
